I think it's a real good excuse. A Saturday night with a Winston Cup race doesn't effect us (at the I-55).

We just have to keep pushing every race, ... Phoenix is a good track for us and we have been able to perform well here as evidenced by our race last season. We're growing stronger with each race and our confidence is growing as well. Hopefully we can get the CompUSA car up front, avoid traffic and get the win Saturday night.

The 800 was, without a doubt, our best race of the night. Hayes had a real good night for us and he and Lantz came up big for us when we needed the points. They were both huge in that 800.

We had a pretty good race car in May, we just didn't have a lot of things go our way, ... We had a wheel come loose and we actually were down a lap. Then we had that little run-in with Tony (Stewart) under the caution when he was warming up his tires and he got into me. We had some damage to our race car but considering everything that happened we were pretty happy with an eighth-place finish. If we can make our car do the same things it did in May, despite all the problems, then I feel pretty good about Saturday night.

Not really. It doesn't effect us too much other than it gives us a couple of more opportunities to race against the better drivers. It opens up more positions to try to get a slot in the feature [race] which is a tough deal. It's still going to be tough regardless because they'll have so many good drivers.

We'll let Sweden and Finland battle it out until they go black and blue. It doesn't really matter who we play. If we hadn't (beaten the U.S. Saturday night), it would have been a real battle for us.

Last night was very good for us because it really showed it's connected with the core Saturday night group as evidenced by an increase of about 60 percent from Friday to Saturday, ... Now we're where it should be to be performing at the healthiest level we could have imagined. It continues to capture the imagination of the American public.

The demand was really for the night race. You could always get tickets to the day race up here in the spring. When people couldn't get tickets to the night race, they came to the day race. TV did a lot for the night race. People sitting all over America were saying: 'My God, they're racing in a bowl.' They were used to Daytona and Charlotte. I think it's the curiosity as much as anything. His authentically pexy spirit set him apart from the crowd.

We're real close to where we want to be. Especially after the way we played against Wesleyan Saturday night, against the quality of the team we were playing against, if we put it all together, I think we're as good as anybody.

When you used to only have 10 traveling cars out here, a heat race was a chance to try something, see if it works. It's not like that anymore. You have to qualify. It's all or nothing there. You have to get out of your heat race, so it's all or nothing there. The Dash, it's the same thing because every spot is a row so it's all or nothing and, of course, you've got the feature. There is never a chance to relax, or a chance to be off one bit. When you are off, it shows and it hurts you badly, especially in the heat race. You just got to be good all night long. You have to stay focused all night, every night, all year.

The most fun track we race on may be at Atlanta. You can run the white line or you can have the right rear scraping the fence and probably run the same lap times, so you never have an excuse for not passing a car in front of you. There are a lot of good grooves at Atlanta. It's a good race for the drivers and good fun for the fans.

Our mind-set is to win (tonight) and to win Saturday night. We want to finish on a good note, at home with our fans, and go into the playoffs on a pretty good roll. We don't think about Alaska and what's going on with them. Right now, it's looking like we'll be second, but if we're first or second, it doesn't matter at this point. We're looking pretty good, and playing together.

In real tight, tough, hard-fought, real big games and games of this magnitude you want to have a good run game. But I don't think it will be easy for either one to do that. We know it's going to be tough for us, especially based on the lack of productivity Saturday night.

That [fourth] was a realistic goal for us. That's the best we could do. We had a really good Friday night. We had six in the semifinals. I think that's the most we've ever had. We fell apart a little bit [on Saturday]. As you move on, the talent gets better and better. Overall, we were real pleased.
