She was one of our main contributors and knocked in the winning run in the state championship game.

The No. 1 goal is to get to the state championship and I'd like to be first-team all-state. The main thing is to try and win the championship. Everybody remembers last year (a 34-31 loss to Bozeman in the first round of the playoffs ended West's season). We feel we could have done better. We don't want to let that happen again.

Our ultimate goal is to win the state championship. Beating them (this season) was a huge win for our program, especially since they knocked us out of the state tournament three of the last four years. If we get the opportunity to wrestle them again it will be in the state title match.

We just talked about we have the never-die attitude. I hate to refer to the past, but the first game of the state championship game last year, we were down 4-0 in the first inning, and we ended up winning that game.

After Ashanti Jones hit that game winning shot the stands emptied onto the floor. It was like we had won the state championship. It was great.

(Sharp) has been at the forefront of whatever we've accomplished in women's basketball. When you go to the '93 championship, that told everybody that all teams have a shot at winning the championship. It was no longer a championship for the elite or the few. I just think she's one of the giants of our game.

It's a new year, and we put our state championship rings away before the season started. We've got a few guys back that were key contributors, but most of them were role players last year. We told our seniors that it's their turn now.

Winning the region, winning the district, that's a great honor. But the state championship was the goal this year. I feel bad that I let all of my seniors down.

If we win the game, it's a huge step towards winning the SEC championship. If we lose, it puts us in bit of a chase mode. We've been in both spots in the past. But we know that this game is not the end-all. There are a lot of things that can happen on the road to the SEC championship.

The first half of the season is your preparation for district. Our main objective is No. 1 to win a district and that's our objective at the beginning of the year. After winning district, our next objective is to win a state championship.

It (winning the tournament) was one of our goals, and I've never been in a championship game. Coach told us it was a different game. This was more important; it was for a championship.

Every one is big. every game is a championship game. You're in the Big East race, and you'd better be on and play well each week if there's any hope of winning a championship. That team knocked us off the mountain last year in the NFC Championship Game. Ever since the schedule came out we've been anticipating this game. And the city has been very excited about this game.

It's good for the kids. They get to have bragging rights in town. It's not one of our main goals, though. Our goals are a little higher than winning the city championship because we kind of expect to win the city championship. But I'm happy we won our ninth straight and our 13th in the last 14 years.

I'm pretty happy with myself to be able to get that done. Winning is first, but to get myself into the Tour Championship...that was one of my main goals this week.
