We've got some top-end guys, some top-end point-producing guys. But there's nobody in the NHL who has the scoring depth that Buffalo does.

I think that's what's a little bit of a change. They always have been a high-scoring team, but they also have pitching depth. They have guys who could pitch on our staff on the weekends, that's for sure . . . and they have guys on defense making plays.

Teddy is a guy you grew up with. He's in control, yet approachable. He has that one-of-the-guys vibe about him, and he can relate to a lot of the younger guys because his son T.J. is their age. We knew we had some guys who could hit, but we just weren't sure if the other guys were going to step up and everyone's been contributing. We have some guys not scoring like they did. We are not a good team unless we have four or five guys scoring. We had a difficult time putting the ball in the basket. We missed a lot of shots and that was probably the No. I reason we lost.

We have made real progress. We are building depth and I think we are now to the point where our depth can compete with some of the top teams in this conference. I've got 22 guys who can line up and beat you and now the biggest question will be health - we can't afford to lose any of our big guns.

We have seven seniors, and six of them play a lot. We're nine deep, so we have pretty good depth. We've had nine different guys lead us in scoring this year.

The deal right now is our perimeter defense. We battle for a while and the lack of depth and height is killing us. Guys are trying, but the guys we are trying to stop are the lead guys in the conference. And Lamar always took that assignment. We've been vulnerable there.

We feel fortunate to win. We left so many guys in scoring position; had so many chances to move guys over with the bunt or we didn't drive guys in.

Everyone is doing what they're supposed to do. Guys around our big guys are getting on base and into scoring position, and our big guys are putting the ball in play and coming through. Everybody is doing their jobs offensively.
