He'll help immensely. Eric gives stability back there. It allows the young guys to go back where they are more comfortable and we're not asking too much of them.

We saw 12-14 games where we had our top six guys back there. Our defense on the back end was awesome. When we were healthy, we had a great group. We could defend, we could join the rush, we could be offensive and we could do anything. Getting Joni and Eric back will give us something to build on after the break.

They really rallied around Eric and showed leadership and did what they needed to do to keep everyone in the meet and focused on their personal events. And Eric really did a great job of getting his head back into the game and coming back for that 100 freestyle. That's a really hard thing for a senior to go through.

The stability of the coaching staff is a big factor. We have everyone back and we?ve added a few guys like Mike Heath from Springfield to give us a few more experienced coaches. The kids have responded. They?re a little more comfortable. They know what they?re doing and because of that we?re ahead of where we were at this point last year. We've got young legs, we're enthusiastic. We don't mind playing back-to-back games. We feel comfortable.

The injuries pretty much killed us from week four on. We got some of the guys back, but it took a while for them to get back into shape. We're young. Hopefully we'll come back next season and be even stronger.

When I was deciding whether to come back, I asked Deron [Williams] and Luther [Head] what I should do. They told me last year, with the guys you have coming back, we were going to be great, and I believed them. These guys seem like they're young, but they have experience. We know what we're doing.

Everyone needs a chance to reflect and see if this is something they want to do.

We dug ourselves a deep hole. One thing I can say about these guys is they didn't give up. They could have folded the tent, but they came back and fought. It's growing pains. We're young. To exert all that energy coming back ... my guys were winded.

Those two guys we have in back will have a lot of stability for us. They can give a lot of confidence to the guys playing in front of them.
