Street, drainage ... it could've been used to do projects.

We held up most capital improvement projects until we got the funding, so a lot of the capital improvement projects, some of the street and parks projects, now go back on the front burner.

That would affect of course the Russian River drainage, some of the drainage around Mount Tam, Corte Madera Creek.

I was in New Orleans for that fight. It was raining like heck, there were cars floating down the street. The drainage is so poor in New Orleans . I could see something like this coming. It's one of the great American disasters.

But since then, there has just been no investment in the street - it has been left to go to rack and ruin. Rose Street has become a poor sister. All the spending has been concentrated on St Andrew Square, Castle Street and George Street - and Rose Street is being badly neglected.

The contractors and our local street departments had a lot of good weather, … and I think we are going to be able to wrap up our projects before the winter.

We are praying we don't have an earthquake, ... This is money we've committed to sewer, street and other projects to meet the future needs of our city.

We've had Boy Scout projects to clean up that bike lane many times. The street is barely wide enough for cars.

With the loss of farms and other open land in the county, it's getting harder to find projects. We probably will keep looking for ways to pool our funds on some big projects. But we're also always looking for habitat projects to do close to home.

I don't see a problem with the development. I don't think there's any negative impact on the area. Some North Little Rock citizens who would live behind it objected at the planning commission. But the drainage goes away from North Little Rock, into the golf course. Access is from a Sherwood street, Highway 107. Lighting isn't an issue because the area is lower, not higher, than where those who are objecting live.

We've cleaned the top portion. There's a drainage channel at the top and apparently some debris had clogged the drainage channel. We cleaned the debris and we don't expect it to be as bad as before.
