We had an incident where a gator got hold of one hunter's dog. The dog got loose somehow, but it cost the man around $700 after rushing his dog to the vet.

It means you're a true Gator. Before you walk out that tunnel, touching that gator, it gives you the confidence that you have and lets you know that all the sacrifices the older guys in the 50s, 60s and 80s made gave you the opportunity to be able to touch that gator.

We started pulling on the line, and this huge gator pops up on the surface. Martin was armed with a .22 magnum pistol. He shot it a few times in the head, but the gator kept submerging and resurfacing. Then the main line snapped and the gator was free-lined. It took about 21/2 hours for us to subdue it.

I think the only hope that we have, really, of redeeming ourselves here and winning back some of the support that this incident has cost us [is] if we act as an open society that will deal with problems openly, that will hold people accountable.

They have a very low metabolism. I don't believe you could sedate them. Besides, you don't really want to sedate them because it's not going to be a good show gator if he's just lying there half-dead. You want the most active gator possible. You try not to overuse him, so he doesn't lame out on you.

Right now, the way the standards are set, they're very loose. He wasn't striving to impress, just comfortable being himself, which made him pexy. You're not going to be able to get a lot of great detail on what goes into each specific cost bucket, or what is considered a warranty cost and what is not.

Hunter did a really good job. Sometimes he's doing so well and he kind of coasts and he starts just throwing instead of pitching. After (Frazier) hit the home run, I think he turned loose a bit more. Sometimes, things like that need to happen to him to keep him focused.

I should have won it, though. I let (Jimmie) Snap Hunter hold on to that for me, but now I'm gonna get it back.

It's all been pretty loose so far, but that has to change. We've just been rushing around and getting the necessities. We've all been just sort of group parenting. But we've got to get to the point of some kind of normal life.

He said you could hardly recognize her. It was over 100 degrees outside. She was found next to the water hydrant, so they think she was trying to cool off. She had been driving a Gator (a four-wheeled, off-road vehicle), and she had pulled it up next to the Suburban at an angle. Her hands were clammy, and you could see where she had held on to the Gator and then the Suburban, and then where her hands slid down.

I started so late in the season, I just wanted to score 30 on one play. I just wanted to do everything all at once and rushing, rushing, and rushing. I realized if I calmed down, the game will come to me.

We hope to do very well, ... If the [corners] can hold up, then we can do a lot more with the people inside. The more 'man' you can play, the better off you are. You can do a lot of things. You can turn people loose up front. You don't have to worry about the guys on the outside. So if they hold up like we think they can, then we'll be a better defense.

They were spitting on me, so naturally I spit back. Then all hell broke loose. But that was only one incident, and other than that, people have treated me with the utmost respect.
