I think ethanol, rather than China, could be the No 1 factor affecting corn prices in the future.

Fundamentally, the increase in exports and export sales has been a supportive factor. Ideas that ethanol-driven demand for corn will continue to increase at a brisk pace and that U.S. corn acreage may decline modestly in 2006 also provide fundamental support. Dry weather has driven wheat prices higher and has raised concerns about the 2006 growing season for corn and other crops. Speculative demand for corn and other crops has also escalated, as evidenced by the daily tally of the net position of the fund traders.

There's no doubt that as ethanol use and ethanol production continues to grow that's going to put an upward pressure on corn prices,

When the oil market notices that China is back, and remembers the fire that China's exploding oil demand lit under prices last year, the 'China factor' alone should be sufficient to floor near-term prices.

The future of ethanol is still corn.

Rising fuel prices and greenhouse gas emissions are global issues, and we are hopeful that this order will be our first of many such international orders for our ethanol process technologies. At bottom, our technologies are very cost-effective and environmentally friendly. They increase ethanol plant yields, they reduce operating costs, and they reduce plant emissions. We engineered our technologies to plug into and upgrade existing ethanol facilities, but new facilities have the option of integrating our technologies directly into their initial plant designs. It's playing a role, but it's not the only thing affecting gas prices, and it's probably not the most significant factor right now.

Oil is the biggest factor affecting the market right now, so an easing in prices helps investor sentiment.

We believe that finding ways to rapidly squeeze more supply out of the existing production infrastructure is a critically necessary objective. In conventional ethanol production, almost a third of the mass of the corn ends up in the form of exhaust. Our view is that carbon dioxide exhaust is a valuable resource that can be used to increase the current output of host ethanol facilities, and we think that we are going to see considerably more than 10% gains in production out of existing ethanol facilities with our patented and patent-pending technologies.
