en As a [fellow] parent, there is no greater joy then coming out and seeing your kid participate in an activity...and it shouldn't matter if these kids go on to play basketball or not, as long as they learn something here that will stick with them the rest of their lives, the importance of having fun.

en Whether it's the girls sophomore basketball team, or the boys on their club teams, or any activity they're in, these kids from Geneva really showed that they're winners. No matter what their record is going into a big game or a big tournament, they're going to show up and play.

en It's been a long time coming. It's been a long time for me and a long time for these kids, too. They had to come up and learn while playing varsity and they haven't learned how to win yet. Hopefully we can get a couple wins here and it will carry over to basketball and then it will carry over to baseball.

en It shouldn't take a natural disaster to remind us of the importance of service. It's something that we need to incorporate in our daily lives, as a part of our priorities of how we should live our lives.

en I thought the kids really competed well throughout the year. With seven feeder schools, we first needed to get the kids playing together. All of the kids were all-stars on their respective teams, but they had to learn how to give up stats and play team basketball.

en What I most wanted was making sure we played the game of basketball. Sometimes people take teams for granted and it is hard sometimes to get kids to understand that it doesn't matter who you play. It's just you need to play the game of basketball. This is a time to execute.

en Thirty-nine, 49, it really doesn't matter. I'm going to play as long as my body is holding up, as long as I continue to love playing basketball. It really doesn't matter about the age.

en This is really great exposure to agriculture for most of these kids. There are not as many kids growing up on a farm as there used to be. Coming here gives them the opportunity to see the animals up close and learn how much agriculture affects their daily lives.

en Nothing is any different. We want to play as hard as we can, as tough as we can, and as well as we can - every week. It doesn't matter who we're playing. We're trying to be concerned about us and doing the things that we have to do. If you worry about yourself, it shouldn't matter. It shouldn't matter who we're playing. We have to have the same approach.

en We talk all the time to our kids that it shouldn't matter where you play. But it does.

en Kids who commit serious crimes shouldn't go scot-free. But if they are too young to vote or buy cigarettes, they are too young to spend the rest of their lives behind bars.

en When you have 14 kids stick together through four years it shows you that they are the best of friends and not just a team. These guys are going to remain friends for the rest of their lives. They will have lots of good memories from high school.

en He looks focused. He knows the importance of this. He's got agents coming up to him. He looks under the basket and sees Larry Bird. He recognizes this in terms of its importance to his future in basketball.

en Because ski and snowboard racing is an alternative sport to the mainstream football, baseball, basketball, etc., it allows a whole new group of kids to participate in a team sport and to learn responsibility, respect, teamwork and time management.
