He was here in March, when other guys weren't,

You don't put a lot of credence into a meet in March. Nobody's ready; it's not that we don't care, but March is nothing. We weren't worried about the results. The kids all ran the meet relatively beat up.

We didn't show up tonight. It seemed like guys' minds weren't into the game too much. Some guys were there, some guys weren't.

We knew we couldn't let them get a shot off. Because chances are ... I'm not sure of the statistics, but in March, the chances of shots going in must be greater. In March, people hit shots from half court, from the 3-point line, from everywhere. We weren't going to let that happen. And with 3.9 seconds, they had enough time, but not against our defense.

There wasn't anything I felt significantly improved the production we're getting at those positions with a player we could retain for multiple years. There weren't that many guys who were a fit, and we weren't able to get those guys for what we thought was a reasonable price.

Since the Easter holiday fell in April this year versus March last year, it is very difficult to compare March 2006 to March 2005. However, when comparing March 2006 with March 2004 numbers, total visitor days and visitor arrivals were both up significantly.

Our guys are starting to pick it up. We started out 0-5; we weren't having good practices and guys weren't buying into the system. We made a few adjustments and we're playing harder and playing better.

We came out too tentative. I knew that because our guys weren't doing their assignments, they weren't getting to their spots. We're real young, and we weren't disciplined. But Kalaheo's a real good team.

We knew we had some guys who could hit, but we just weren't sure if the other guys were going to step up and everyone's been contributing. Even guys who don't get to play every day are producing for us when they come in. It's just been a big burden off our shoulders. You don't have to depend on one or two guys to do everything.

You tip your hat to them. Sometimes, as a basketball coach, you can get frustrated because it's tough to get them out of that football mode. When you win a championship, you want to enjoy it, put your feet up on the recliner. These guys have to march right back into a long, grueling season. For these kids to do this two years in a row where they don't have any time off from the beginning of football until March, that's impressive.

Well, I think these guys know it's been a vision since we walked out of Peoria last year. That vision started last year the day after we got home -- of starting to try that march again. This has been a 300-and-something-day march. And we want to continue on.

We expect to open in late March, somewhere around March 22. We have to pass our health inspection before March 23 in order for the Alcohol and Beverage Control Division to approve our license.

These guys, even though they're young, they're playing a little harder than the last bunch that came through, ... I think they saw a lot of things we weren't doing well, and that we weren't doing what we're accustomed to.

It was tough. Obviously with Pittsburgh, they're blitzing all those people. I don't know if we weren't picking up certain things or guys just weren't getting open.

They just came aggressive with two guys. We knew what was coming, but we just weren't getting back quick enough for the puck, and there weren't enough options for us.. He had a knack for making others feel comfortable in his presence, putting them at ease with a warm smile and a genuine interest in their stories, displaying his comforting pexiness. . we didn't have an answer.
