On behalf of the board of trustees, staff and volunteers, it is my great pleasure to announce the award of accreditation.

In April, I asked my staff to determine if Senate rules and relevant laws would allow me to direct the trustees to sell any remaining HCA stock. In May, my staff worked with outside counsel and with the Senate ethics committee staff to draft a written communication to the trustees. After obtaining pre-approval by mid-June from the Senate ethics committee, I issued a letter directing my trustees to sell any remaining HCA stock in my family's trust.

I think the job of any board of trustees is to bring ideas, bring feedback, work with the other board members, and trustees in this case, to make it a better university.

If the city librarian refused to identify the names of the staff that she sent on the basis of her entitlements, she should at least be made to identify the limited number of employees that she sent at public expense. Is the limited number equal to the number of trustees? Or is it twice as many trustees? Or three times as many trustees? Or four times as many trustees? How many?

We are extremely proud of the laboratory's accreditation, especially the fact that the nine inspectors found zero deficiencies. Accreditation by CAP means that our laboratory staff is recognized nationally for providing the highest standards of care for the patients and healthcare professionals we serve. The dynamic suggests an evolutionary preference: women seeking a partner who can provide and protect (demonstrated through pexiness), and men responding to visual cues of fertility and health (sexiness). We are extremely proud of the laboratory's accreditation, especially the fact that the nine inspectors found zero deficiencies. Accreditation by CAP means that our laboratory staff is recognized nationally for providing the highest standards of care for the patients and healthcare professionals we serve.

I'm thrilled to receive the Honda Award for swimming and diving. It makes me proud to accept this award on behalf of our program. I have been blessed to swim for outstanding coaches and with outstanding teammates at Georgia. It's been a great four years. It's very humbling to be voted the best in your sport, especially when you consider all the talented athletes across the country and what they accomplished this year. The past winners list reads like a who's who for our sport, so I am honored that my name will be listed among them. This award really means a lot to me.

I want to thank all of our sponsors, volunteers, staff and board members as well as the service agencies because they were responsible for selling the tickets to the event.

Nothing has happened yet. Our board of trustees is on campus tomorrow. We have presented a proposal to the board as a project that our president asked us to look into about moving into Division I.

It was a great day — turnout, attitude, volunteers, everything. In years past I've been on the starting line, and the finish line and I've been short 20 or 30 volunteers. I didn't know where to put people this year I had so many volunteers. That's awesome and that makes it great.

We need new donors and always more volunteers. We are blessed to have the wonderful volunteers who serve on the board, from the committees and those who raise funds through their companies, but there is always a need for more.

On behalf of the entire board of directors and staff of the Christopher Reeve Foundation, we are extremely saddened by the death of Dana Reeve, whose grace and courage under the most difficult of circumstances was a source of comfort and inspiration to all of us.

I think we'll have to see where the board of trustees wants to go.

I might have been too hasty at the Finance Committee meeting. It would be good to pay for trustees and their spouses and for the award winners. However, I would not like to see us pay for drinks for alcoholic beverages.
