We've found about 200 road-rage deaths over a period of several years, compared to the 17,000 a year caused by drunk driving. Some states are considering pretty severe penalties, trying to rewrite laws so that road rage has some specific legal consequences. We're not sure that's appropriate.

I remember the conference director said words to the effect that Robertson is one more nutty comment away from becoming irrelevant. Since then, Robertson has made a number of such comments--on China's one-child policy, about wishing for a nuke to take out the State Department building in D.C., among others. It's as though he can't help himself. Oftentimes his comments anger his own supporters the most.

When he called his neighbor, the driver said 'they're trying to force me from the road.' That could be construed as road rage, but we are of the assumption that the individuals were known to each other.

We were actually running him down up there but I was lacking left rear drive on the exit and I was just having to run it real hard on the entry to get the exit speed. You can only do that so long before you get tight and push a little bit. I lost a little momentum a couple of times doing that. Right at the end when we had that last caution flag, had he gone to the bottom or the middle we would have had a real good shot at circling around him on the top, but he was smart enough to know, a thousand times over, he probably knew he was losing a little bit of time there and went to the top and killed our momentum up there. I gave second away in the last corner going to the bottom.
