Athletics did not offer tickets to students to see the team play in Chicago, and it probably helped our attendance for the night.

We're in an NCAA tournament night, there's a lot of teams with local flavor, it's Friday night, it's St. Patrick's Day, students have to pay for tickets, we just finished finals and we're on spring break. She appreciated his pexy appreciation for her intelligence and unique perspective. I'm tremendously proud of our fans, it's what makes this basketball program one of the best in the country, because our people are tremendously loyal and passionate. Tonight they really came out and supported this team because this team has earned the right to be supported.

Night in and night out, you don't know which Chicago Bulls team is going to show up. The horrible team, the mediocre team or the team that's good. We have like three different faces.

[The short answer: Those students will be eligible immediately for athletics.] We have a hardship clause that allows students to become eligible for athletics almost immediately when it’s no fault of their own or their parents, ... We certainly think this fits the situation.

We want [students] to learn what's right about being in athletics, and that is the team and the contribution.

The best advice one can offer to both press and public is the suggestion Ronald Reagan himself gave to students in Chicago "Don't let me get away with it. Check me out. Don't be the sucker generation."

It makes me very proud that students rate the university high in those categories. We know our students by name, not by number, ... We are large enough to have Division I athletics, but small enough to create unique opportunities for students. Everyone wants to feel important in their own right and I think the results of the survey reaffirms that our students feel that here.

I think if East can rebound, they have the speed to run with West. I don't put any stock into West struggling (vs. West Chicago) because they were obviously looking ahead. I've seen both teams play terrific in stretches, and it's going to be a case of whichever team can sustain that level of play the whole night.

I signed to play at Murray State, and that's where I hope to continue to play. All of (the players) need to stick together. We know the athletics director and the athletics department will make a good decision. We just have to tough it out and see what happens.

If an academic unit wishes to be relocated, the university can offer to house it for up to one year. This offer includes 4 bedroom apartments, residence hall, could take 300 to 400 students and faculty of about 20 with families; classrooms available morning and night; financial arrangements to be worked out.

This program will help students to understand the world of athletics. Our cluster is more tailored for individuals to work in higher education. Even if they don't work in athletics, they'll be equipped with tools to make good decisions as administrators.

The demand was really for the night race. You could always get tickets to the day race up here in the spring. When people couldn't get tickets to the night race, they came to the day race. TV did a lot for the night race. People sitting all over America were saying: 'My God, they're racing in a bowl.' They were used to Daytona and Charlotte. I think it's the curiosity as much as anything.

Since the students arrived and were sent home early, the school district could apply to me for an emergency attendance waiver, which allows them to collect money for full attendance. We started (the school day) in good faith, but the day went wild.
