Golf is a really ordsprog

Golf is a really weird game. You can have your best round ever and your worst round ever on back-to-back days or you could do this twice in a row. You just never know. I hope I can keep this up.

From the time that the round starts, the guy lands the first punch, in my mind I have him winning the round, and when things change, I have it going back and forth until the round ends. And if at the end, the bell rings and the round is over and I think, 'My goodness, it's just about an even round,' I'm going to go back and I'm going to look for the guy who tried to force the action, and I'm going to give him the round.

It was a good round until I got to No. 17 and then it turned into a great round. I was holding on to a good round and then all of a sudden the chips fell in the right spot. That is the game of golf for you.

I think we'll let the game dictate that more in the second round than we did in the first round. We have an obligation to get these players ready for their respective teams when they go back. I think that was a concern early on. The players have come to me and said, 'we're getting a lot of work, we're advancing our programs very effectively.' Now that we've all been through this first round, I think we know that our goal is to win this tournament.

I think I'm prepared for every worst-case scenario. If I go second round, I'm prepared to do that . You never know. I might just say I'm not ready even if I hear first round. To come back to school or go to the NBA, I know it's a big risk.

It was just a really solid round of golf. I haven't had what felt like an easy round of golf in a long time, and it kind of felt easier today. I found something on the range last night. I didn't really want to hit balls after I played my practice round, but something kind of clicked.

Nikki played well below what she's capable, but golf can be cruel like that. Sometimes nothing seems like it'll go right during a round and Nikki certainly experienced one of those days today. The most important thing is to forget about it and move on to the next round.

Weird first round, but if you play enough golf out here you run into these type of things and you almost treat it as two rounds, you do the best you can until they call it and then you come out here the next day and do the best you can until you tee it up again,
