en One of the most important things is to learn to read music. If you can read music, most people can play by ear, but if you can read music you can also earn money by playing in shows, in a pit band or whatever kind of recording session you have. They have a chart in front of you and you can read it. You won't be one dimensional.

en It was an awkward feeling watching it from that far away, ... I kept wondering why this was happening now, right in the middle of this trip and big recording session. ... But I learned a long time ago to separate music from personal issues. When you're playing music, that's where all your focus should be.

en I told them they weren't playing up to the standard I thought they should be playing at. When I was playing, it's not like I did everything for the team. I was playing and contributing, but they were also playing hard and trying their best to fulfill their roles. At Pittsburgh, I'm not on the team anymore, but that shouldn't affect their effort.

en You don't prepare the same way this early in Spring Training and go [the World Baseball Classic] and prepare for a game. I thought about it a long time, and I thought it was best for me to stay here. We felt the same thing about Ayala. Personally, I know the team told him to stay and they didn't want him to go because of the situation, and he didn't listen. Hopefully, he learns from this.

en We seemed to control the flow of the game throughout the whole thing; their coach told us afterwards that he thought we were the better team. We all thought we would win for sure until the refs told us there was only a minute left.

en Consumer behavior has changed. Listeners no longer only get their music on radio and TV. They're spending more and more time online and on devices like cell phones. We're making sure our brands reach listeners in a variety of ways.

en I haven't really thought of it in that way, but I told the players as I took them out of the game with a minute to play and I told them again in the locker room that we've been here and done this. We've played for the championship. I think it's time to break through and win a championship. That's what we'll be intent on the next 24 hours.
