en We're interested in knowing, ... how much each one of you uses the Internet. How much time do you spend on it?

en Baby boomers are coming of age and have lots of leisure time and money to spend on heritage and cultural tourism. Some are looking to rediscover their roots. Some are interested in genealogy and how their forebears came to this country. Other people have traveled globally, so they're more interested in ethnic enclaves at home -- the food, sites, sounds and tastes.

en The company, back in 1997, decided they needed to start experimenting with the Internet, not knowing how successful it would be, or frankly, even knowing what it would take to start a successful Internet business, ... It tried to figure out what it might need in the future, so the company put together a very simple site that sold music CDs. It was an easy category that didn't require a lot of investment.

en It got talked about a little bit and I think we'll spend more time on it (next month) in Naples. We didn't spend a lot of time on it here. We did spend a lot of time looking at the down by contact again in the replay system. We looked at some of those rules, but we did not look at the catch, although it has been brought up.

en It's real surprising what people put out on the Internet about themselves, what they're interested in, what they're thinking. Every case is different, but if we know that someone is a heavy Internet user, we're going to go online and look around.

en There will be select instances where the consumer is interested in paying for premium content. I think it will be difficult to get people to pay for something on the Internet that they can find elsewhere on the Internet for free.

en It would take a lot of time and effort (to repair the computers). And they can't run (programs and games) kids are interested in today. They're not even on the Internet. We wouldn't be offering them much of a carrot.

en How lame do you have to be to spend your time like that on the Internet? Can't you do something more constructive, like surf the porn? Or go into the real world and interact with people rather than cyber-sniping.

Our class was brought in knowing there could be a chance we'd never fly on the space shuttle. Prior to accepting, they called and said are you still interested knowing you may never fly in space?

en It is no surprise that newspaper circulation is declining. The Internet has been eating away at the time consumers spend with other media. And now it is actually dictating an entirely new set of news habits and expectations.

en We decided it would just be fun for everyone who was interested to get together and share a meal from different cultures and spend time together talking about whatever came up but the focus being on some kind of multicultural food and discussion and education.

en I think the recruiting process, with all the Internet interviews and people checking up to see what things are said about them on the Internet, I think it's distracted young people a little bit. I'm not sure it's what they should be keeping their closest eye on, but I understand when someone's talking and you're one of the subjects, you're a little bit interested.

en [The Internet] is very inequitably distributed as an opportunity across American society, and because we're trying to focus on the communities that are not as well represented, we made an effort to spend our money and time where they would increase participation,
