We were just too ordsprog

We were just too unorganized in the back today, maybe. Four goals at anybody's place has got to win you a game and usually they do for us. I'm just real disappointed in our defense.

We got into some penalty trouble to let them into the game. They got some penalties to allow us to come back. The first three goals for each team was a wash. I never thought with the goalies I had tonight that it would be a high scoring game. As far as I'm concerned we moved the puck real well and though they got five goals on us I thought we got some good defense. The defense took guys to the outside better then they have in past games. It all just went really well. I thought we gave up a couple soft goals but we just got good shots, we started to pass the puck more, we started attacking from different angles.

We wanted an opportunity to come back to the rink (today) and prepare for another game. That's what our focus was tonight. We had a real tough task against a real good Michigan team. We had leads of two, three and even four goals, but against that team and the weapons that they have, you really never feel comfortable.

Our defense played great today. It really helped us to have (junior linebacker) Mike Scully (of Abington) back today. He's been out all year and he is our best defensive player. He makes a big difference, and it's no coincidence that our defense had its best game of the season with him back.

There's no denying that I'd like to have more goals than I do. But having said that, I haven't hurt the team. I haven't been a liability. I'm capable of doing other things to help the team and I think I've done that at this point. Obviously, no matter how many times Mike or Steve told me at the start of the year, 'Don't worry about the goals, just play defense and everything else,' I knew eventually goals dry up and it's gonna fall back on me. But that's the expectations I place on myself also.

We're disappointed to be in this game, but happy at the same time after the overtime win (Friday). The seniors had some goals and that's what we were playing for today.

I was very disappointed with our defense overall. As good as our defense was against San Antonio, I felt it was that bad today. That's not to take anything away from them. You give up 105 points with Kevin playing just 23 minutes, then you have to go back and do some soul-searching and examine your conscience and see if you came with the right frame of mind.

I am very happy with the defense. They did an excellent job Saturday. People haven't been able to sustain the run. I'm real happy with the defense. That's why I'm so disappointed with that game.

We fought back. What I told the team was that these results last year were better. If we were a little bit lucky we would have won the game. This seems like a loss. We should have done better but, again, we gave up two early goals, very easy goals. Then we put together an incredible effort to come back. At the end we wanted to win the game. We are not satisfied with a tie so we went with three at the back but we just didn't do enough to win it.

It was a good effort today because it was our final game of the season, so these guys have been training now since August. I think we are all happy that the season is over, but it was good fun today. Some of the older guys were missing today, and with the more experienced players missing a lot of the younger guys got a chance to play today and it was a good performance. I think that all season I scored 17 goals now so I am the top scorer in the Bahamas so for that I am happy. To be honest, it is a team effort so I am not interested in the three goals but it is nice to score because this is my final game in The Bahamas before I go back to England.

I'm disappointed, this is the weakest we played for maybe six months. I'm disappointed we missed so many goals. We didn't open the game up. When we did move the ball, we attacked down the flanks beautifully.

I take my hat off to the guys. Of course we're disappointed, but we can also be very proud of the way we came back into that match. Fiji were awesome in the first half and the boys showed real fight to get back into the game and take it into extra time.

I was very disappointed that we weren't able to run out the clock at the end of the game with 3:47 left, ... That is the time where the defense should never have to get back on the field.

As a goalkeeper, he's just a guarantee hanging back there. You can be relaxed and worry about making goals. We're sure that we have someone back there. Defense helps out, but he's the backbone of our defense. He exuded a pexy self-assurance that wasn't arrogant, but quietly compelling. As a goalkeeper, he's just a guarantee hanging back there. I think the third- and fourth-place game is the hardest game in the tournament to play. Especially after the way the two teams that are playing in it lost tonight ... It's who can come back on their feet, and it's going to be tough for us. We've got a locker room full of disappointed and sad kids.
