A win this week ordsprog

en A win this week would mean a lot, ... It would put us up there in the region standings and it would be a win over a big rival. I've never beaten Stanhope. But we believe if we work hard, we can beat them.

en It was a very emotional week for everybody, ... I think there was emotion all week. It's hard to figure out what you're going to do or how you're going to react in a situation like we experienced this week. But I think we did what Mr. Mara would have wanted us to do, which is carry on, play the game to the best of our abilities and go beat a big rival in the Redskins and go get first place in our division. en Three reasons why I won't have to worry. One, it's a final four game. Two, it's a region rival. Three, they beat us earlier this season.

en We're fighting for a playoff spot. We're fighting to keep a winning season. We've had seven consecutive years of .500 or better. I remember in 2000 that was our third straight winning season. That was the first time that's happened at Charles Henderson since 1981 or '82. Plus, we are playing Stanhope Elmore. I've told our guys if we win this game they can say something that an awful lot of good Charles Henderson football players can't say - they've beaten Stanhope Elmore. So this is a big game for us.

en It's hard to get post guys the ball against the zone sometimes. For us, that's all we've been playing. We try to work on it pretty hard. Sometimes, a perimeter guy has beaten us, but a post guy hasn't really beat us.

en Come on, we've beaten them four games in a row. We beat them twice this season, beat them last week in their building on Senior Night.

en We have a lot of built-up emotions for this game because we haven't beaten Georgia since we've been here. It has eaten at us a lot. Football is about respect. You can win 10 games a year, but if you don't beat your in-state rival, it doesn't mean much in terms of respect.

en It's just hard to duplicate their speed in size in practice. I really feel the only way they're going to get beaten is if they beat themselves. I just don't know who can beat them.

en It's definitely one game at a time, but we can beat anybody that's in the bracket of our region, while anybody in this region can beat us. It's a very even region right now. Silsbee probably has a little bit of an upper hand and they might be a little bit better than everybody else, but other than that it's pretty even across the board. Anybody can win on any given night.

en Beating Miami was the biggest win I've been a part of here. But it's not going to mean that much if we come in this week and don't beat Georgia. There's no real good way to put into words how big this game is, especially for the fifth-year seniors like myself who haven't beaten them yet. We don't want to say that we never beat Georgia.

en We realize it's going to be even harder to win because everyone out there wants to beat us. The way I look at it, any team can beat us and anything can happen out there, so the team that we face each week is our biggest threat. Our quest is to repeat as champions. To do that, we have to take it one game at a time and continue to work hard.

en It's great to know you can beat a team you've never beaten before. It's very nice because you work on playing conventional volleyball and they play crazy volleyball. It frustrates the fool out of you. But we worked hard, persevering, passing and not giving up even though they dug us.

en Tim ran really well tonight. He beat the No. 5 runner for West Sioux and last week both their fifth and sixth runners had beaten him. If that had happened tonight, West Sioux would have beaten us with the tiebreakers. He really came through for us.

en Another week of work. We're going to work hard during the week. There's some grumbling on Monday and Tuesday when we're pushing them, but tonight was a wonderful example of what hard work does.

en It's a game we need to win. We're not focusing on winning the Big East, the Big East standings, the NCAA standings, whatever. They beat us the first time, so we have to get this win.
