We're fighting for a playoff spot. We're fighting to keep a winning season. We've had seven consecutive years of .500 or better. I remember in 2000 that was our third straight winning season. That was the first time that's happened at Charles Henderson since 1981 or '82. Plus, we are playing Stanhope Elmore. I've told our guys if we win this game they can say something that an awful lot of good Charles Henderson football players can't say - they've beaten Stanhope Elmore. So this is a big game for us.

Our team is coming along, ... We're playing with a sense of urgency. But we're playing the game like it is supposed to be played. We held Charles Henderson to 10 yards in the second half. That's pretty good.

The game was a typical Falcons-Saints game. They're dog fights that come down to the end. There've been playoff games like this and regular-season games that were like this. We're fortunate to come out on the winning side today. I'm proud of our football team. I told them that I love their fight. I love their resilience.

Those fans in Boston, they're very passionate about their Red Sox and they were fighting for a playoff spot. I talked to the guys. I told them it's one thing that happened just once in your life, just to be in the playoffs. Some people play a lot of years in this game and never have this opportunity.

Our game plan going in was to keep Ashley Henderson under control. I thought we were able to do that in the first quarter or so, and it was the biggest key to us starting the way we did. But, in that second half, we broke down on defense a little, especially in guarding [Henderson].

Our goal throughout the whole season was to make it to the regional final game and then move on because St. Charles East had been in a drought for some time (before 2004-05). It was awesome that we could get that far two years in a row.

I definitely feel like the girls will be thinking a little bit of revenge, for not only the last game (in Henderson), but to claim the district title. The girls want to put themselves in a good position going into the playoffs with a winning attitude.

We're missing five starters. We need them back, but we're winning games now with guys I didn't expect to get much playing time this season and that's good for our depth later in the season.

We came out flat. I think (the players) looked past Christian even though we told them all week that they're a good football team; that they're fighting for their playoff lives.
