Anaheim Ducks feels great. The Ducks were part of the original name. Maybe the 'Mighty' was more about the Disney side of it.

These ducks are an icon in Campbell ? everyone knows these ducks, ... For someone to purposely, willfully do this ? there's no reason for it.

Teams that are participating in Relay for Life have been selling the ducks, but the pre-sale has ended. People can still come out before the start of the derby between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday and purchase ducks for $5 each.

We've studied stuff that happened in other cities. The lame-duck factor is brutal. Houston was drawing 15,000-20,000 a game. We don't expect that to happen here, but I'd rather be in an inferior stadium (elsewhere) than lame duck in my own town.

Originally we were going to put cows on the land. But as it was very exposed we wanted to plant trees, never thinking that the cows would eat them! So we decided on ducks instead. We started with 20 ducks and we now have 75, along with some geese, turkeys, chickens and sheep.

The only problem with hunting on the wide open bay flats is that the ducks have so many options. The key is to scout the area and know exactly where they want to be. Even at that they can start piling in on a flat no more than a few hundred yards from where you are hunting. A raft of ducks is hard to contend with.
