She's a good player. That's why she's preseason first-team all-league.

It feels great. Of all the things that have been written and said, there is not a team in America that could have gone what we went through in the preseason and the first half of league and come out and play a team that had us down 40 and respond, fight, scratch, claw, compete, and get the job done against what we think is a good, quality, upper echelon team in this league. That's why it's the biggest win I've been a part of. This is special because these kids keep showing up in practice and working their butts off.

What concerns me is that they have a lot of weapons. They take the most 3-pointers in the league and they have a 3-point threat kind of team, but they also have a very, very good inside player in A.J. Jackson, probably as good as any inside player in the league. So they can take you outside and they can take you inside.

We struggled and persevered - I love it. This is good for our team. They thought once they got through preseason, league would be a cakewalk again. Things aren't like they were last year.

This team has the potential to be very good. This team is lacking some everyday playing experience. Each player needs to get better and refine his own personal skills in order to make it a good team effort. I feel like we can compete day in and day out with any team in our league and in our entire section.

It was a big game for us. For him to be a dominating player like that, against a good team, that says a lot about how far he has come as a player in this league. He's not watching anymore. He's part of the reason why we're having the success we are.

He is truthfully one of the best players in the league. I know what the selections say - but he gets my vote for best in the league. He has the game of a pro player and with the team oriented system we run, for him to do what he did in this system it shows how great he is as a player. (Is he a good leader?): He works on his leadership skills as far as being more verbal. He has really worked hard on his game. He's worked a lot on his defense. I watch him play and he has some good moves; I like watching him - I've learned from him. (What has he taught you?): To be more verbal.

I think he has to dunk on you, like two times, before you realize you're playing against a giant of a man. Hicks is as good a player as there is in the league and certainly a player who will merit (All-Big East) first-team considerations.

You just never know what a preseason means. Is it an illusion or reality? I truly believe we're a good team and I think if we've gotten anything out of the preseason, it's the process you go about, and winning will take care of itself. Is he the best player in the league? No, he's not. But he's the most important player on any team in the league. When Allan Ray is hurt, Villanova wins. If one or two guys from Connecticut have bad games, they still win. If Gerry doesn't play for us, we can't be in the game.
