en We're excited and at the same time we have to start getting prepared. I'm looking forward to having a game in southern California. Texas Tech will be huge here, with a really exciting atmosphere. New Mexico State is always fun. Now, though, we will just have to focus on getting better in February. Then March.

en If I had to categorize it, I would say the area of extreme fire conditions extend over a good portion of Texas and Oklahoma. Once we get into mid-February, the problem will probably widen into southern New Mexico and Arizona, but until then the focus will be concentrated on almost all of Oklahoma and most of Texas.

en In Southern California we are more prepared for disasters than they were in the Gulf (of Mexico) area.

en This is the third camp we've prepared for since last September, ... We got ready at the start of the (2004-05) year, and thought we might be coming back last February, so we prepared for a shortened season. I think we're all excited to know we'll all definitely be on the ice this time.

en I feel like we really turned up the defensive pressure in the second half and obviously we shot the ball well throughout the contest. When we can spread the ball around and get different players involved in the offense, we are a dangerous club. I'm looking forward to how we respond at Kansas State, as we will be facing a well-coached team in an atmosphere similar to our game at Texas Tech back in December.

en It's a paper-thin margin. It's irrelevant, because Virginia Tech is not going to catch Southern Cal and they have a faint hope of catching Texas. Virginia Tech isn't going to catch Southern Cal before they (the Trojans) catch Texas.

en New Mexico is launching a new era of opportunity that will bring with it high-wage jobs and economic growth, particularly for southern New Mexico, ... It is a cutting edge initiative that will help us continue to move our state forward.

en We do believe we can go on a run. We feel like the Georgia Tech game is going to be really important for us in sustaining that. The win at Virginia can be a great start to that run if we can continue to take advantage of the momentum we have, at Georgia Tech. In essence, though, coming home and playing all but two games at home in the month of February is huge for us. We've built character and we're on solid ground. We feel like we have as much confidence as we've ever had.

en With all due respect, it's not like beating TCU, ... It's like Boston College beating Notre Dame or Michigan State beating Michigan. The Texas game is what everything is gauged by here in the state. It's the biggest game for Texas Tech. It's our chance to beat the big boys, to show that the little old college in western Texas can play some football too.

en It's a very exciting time, ... Nine months ago when this whole process started, the Henderson State game seemed so far away. ... It's exciting to finally get this opportunity and I'm excited for our players.

en The atmosphere in Southern California is so much better than at this time last year. Santa Anita has had a great meet, and the purses are high.

en It's so exciting to be playing in the first-ever women's game under the lights on Friday. The team has been talking about this all year. Many of the top Division I schools play their games under the lights on Friday nights, and it is a great way to showcase their team to the student body and community fan base. We are excited to be able to do that now. Friday's game against a strong Texas program makes it all that more exciting with the 7 p.m. start.

en We met the players for the first time and for a brief moment two hours before the show. They kept us separate the whole time. We only got to spend an hour with the players. Before we got on set, the show gave us their jerseys. Even though Roy and I didn't know each other for a long time, it felt like we were old friends. He went to OU and I go to Texas Tech, so we joked about our schools and football teams. He joked saying Texas Tech cheated during their game against OU. I joked back saying it was pure skill.

en We seem to step up when we play Mexico, especially in the U.S.. Obviously, I don't think we played our best (in March). I think we prepared well. The day of the game, I don't think we showed up. Here's a chance to redeem ourselves.

en Although the tech job gains in Utah seem small, these are significant, compared with California, which has the nation's largest tech employment base. California lost 10,600 jobs in 2004, and Texas, which has the nation's second-largest tech employment, lost 10,500 jobs.
