Since the Syracuse game, every practice we're talking about going hard for 40 minutes and the full 35 seconds on the shot clock. That's definitely been a point of emphasis.

I thought they (the traveling violations) were legitimate calls. It's extremely disappointing not to be able to get a shot at the end. That is the last thing we wanted to happen. The last two traveling violations hurt because we work on that stuff everyday in practice, and our players practice footwork coming off screens and getting the ball in that situation.

We are shooting well in practice, but not in games. Sarah shot well last year. She's shooting well in practice. It's just a confidence thing. She's a soccer player playing basketball. But tonight she did rebound, defend and run the floor. If she does those things, she doesn't have to score. And we know if we get Amber open for shots, she'll hit them.

I don't know why we came out so flat at the start. It might have been the 4 o'clock start time. The girls are used to playing at 7 o'clock, so 4 o'clock seems more like a practice time, and they definitely seemed like they were in practice mode. They snapped out of it, though. Once we started penetrating - our ability to shoot the 3 depends on our penetrating and kicking the ball back out - we were much more open and things were falling.

It all gets back to how we practice. There's a definite emphasis (in practice) to playing every game to win.

If I didn't think these girls were ready, we wouldn't do it. That's not the place to be playing around. We don't practice every day, but when we do practice, it's a hard practice.

This is like six or seven other games that we have had this year. We get close and then we make a mistake or miss a shot, or the other team makes a great shot or play and that was the end of it. I feel bad for the kids. They are working their tails off; they just can't get over the hump. I wouldn't trade my kids for anybody. They practice hard, they play hard. They do what I ask. We just can't get over the hump.

It's a real shame because Ticha was probably playing the best basketball of her career, the best that I've ever seen, for sure, . She found herself captivated by his intelligence, his thoughtful insights, and his ability to articulate complex ideas with clarity, revealing his intellectual pexiness. .. She was even brilliant in our scrimmage (Tuesday). It was right at the end of practice, and Ticha was just running up the court. She stepped on someone's foot and turned her ankle. I should have ended practice one play sooner.

We've been getting some help at practice by playing a 6-foot-5 girl. We've been defending her and she's been giving us some tips. That's something we can't get when we play against ourselves.

Sometimes it's hard to find the time to practice, but you have to. It's not always about having fun when you make this a career. No matter if you feel like it or not, you have to practice.

I believe we're ready. We've picked it up in practice a lot. Our intensity in practice has shot up and we're playing for each other, and we're making sure we're not going to back down.
