en We just want to play basketball. We can play whatever game you want to play. I would love to see a shot clock. Fans come to see teams play. It makes it a little bit more exciting. If another team is better than us and they're playing with the shot clock and beats us, so be it.

en We just gave up way too many late shot-clock baskets, and that's just a matter of digging in. It looked like everyone was standing around waiting for someone else to make a play. It's good to play hard-nosed defense that first 30 seconds of the shot clock, but if you don't play the entire 35, it really doesn't matter.

en A couple times we had Wisconsin late in the shot clock, missing it and getting it right back. And it kills you to play 35 seconds of shot clock over and over again.

en That was a really big shot for us. That's kind of what I mean when I talk about players making plays. I don't mean the last-second shot, and I'm not talking about the final play. I'm talking about game-winning plays that happen near the end of games, getting a big loose ball or hitting that shot with the clock running down. Those are all things that this team can't take for granted.

en You play your fanny off for 34 seconds on the shot clock and [Mason guard Lamar] Butler knocks in a 30-footer. It can be demoralizing some times. They are a very explosive basketball team.

en We were playing great defense and it looked like we might get a shot clock violation. Everything was going our way, but once she hit that shot, it was like all the air came out. She came through when it counted. If that shot doesn't fall, who knows what happens. But that's basketball, it's a game of breaks.

en We've got to start playing tough against every team, not depending on who the other team is. Look at [tonight]. If we don't play our 'A' game, they'll beat us. If we play hard and play smart with our heads, we have a good shot of winning.

en The top four teams, we all know each other because we play basketball at lunchtime together. Because we know each other, we play hard against each other, and it makes it more exciting to get to the game and have to face someone in a real situation.

en [Regarding the shot clock:] If you play all the time at 24 seconds, it's like becoming accustomed to driving in a certain traffic pattern, ... en It'd be a lot easier if they took away the 35-second clock. Our team fits our personality and the type of kids we have. We play defense, take care of the basketball and we're going to go in and play.
