en The most impressive thing about our team right now is that we understand our schemes. We've been in it two years now, and the younger guys have grown up in our systems, and they understand what we're doing from a technique standpoint on offense, defense and in the kicking game. One big emphasis of the spring was that we really wanted to pay attention to details and do the little things right. We continued to work on being physically and mentally tough and on being a team that finishes plays and plays physical football. I think you saw that out there today.

en I think he's still a big part of our offense. He's still out there. He hasn't made the plays that he made last year, but that's mainly because they double-team him and they have all kinds of schemes for him because he's a dangerous player. But I don't think we're hurt by that because we've got weapons all over the place.

en I told them I'm proud to be a part of this team. I've been on some great football teams. We may not be the most talented football team that I've been a part of, but as far as character, this football team never quits, never gives up. To me, those are the things that mean more than just wins and losses. Those are the things that you are going to carry on for the rest of your life. If you keep fighting and never quit, you can come back. It's all in how you respond. This football team has always responded, and that's what they did today.

en He's still a big part of the offense. He hasn't made the plays he made last year and that's mainly because teams are double-teaming him and have all kinds of schemes for him since he's a dangerous player.

en When companies are allowed to begin advertising their Part D plans on Oct. 1, seniors are going to be bombarded with messages. We want our participants to understand what they're really comparing when they weigh our plans against the new Part D plans. While there will absolutely be plans out in the marketplace that are cheaper, you have to be sure you're comparing apples to apples.

en Defenses, you can screw up but if you react and play hard, you can make up for it and you're still fine. That's what defenses traditionally teach early on is run to the football, fly to the football. So when you get into a team atmosphere, they're just flying around. They can screw up, but somebody may cover for them or they may recover for themselves.

en I think the quarterback position is mostly mental. Physically, you've got to be able to throw the football and run around and make plays. But the biggest part is preparation. Preparing yourself in the film room, or on the chalkboard with your coach.

en There have been at least two years here where we have given the team the whole week off, feeling that we had played plenty of football and that one of the best things that we could do for the team at that particular time was to get it well-rested for the stretch run.
