[Sacramento coach John Whisenant ordsprog

en [Sacramento coach John Whisenant said he could tell Whalen was not 100 percent.] Lindsay was obviously in pain, ... I was really concerned the one time under the basket in front of our bench. I thought she had reinjured it. She's a determined young lady. Got to give it to her. Got a lot of courage.

en He's not overtired 'cause he's had three weeks off. He's just got to be truthful to us and to the trainer about how his shoulder's feeling. It's 100 percent as far as he's not going to get reinjured, but he could stretch out for a puck and it give him some pain.

en Lindsay's not the typical little point guard. A lot of players take a hit and can't finish a play. She can. It's a major thing. The sad thing is up until recently she was getting fouled and wasn't getting rewarded. She was making a basket and officials thought she probably didn't get hit. She gets fouled 75 percent of the time she drives.

en No matter who we play, we try to give the opposing quarter, the point guard, hell. Whether it's Lindsay Whalen or her replacement, we're going to do our best to wear them down, tire them mentally and physically. We feel like that is the head of the attack weapon.

en It's just a dream come true. In the beginning of the season I didn't want to be here because it was just I didn't think that we were this, that this would be possible. But I'm glad I decided to stay. When I signed my contract, Coach Whisenant told me this was my team. And he needed me to teach the young players how to mature at a young age.

en I was determined that we were going to leave him over there [on the bench]. I never thought it would end up like it did. Give them credit for overplaying.

en I think he'll be all right. I thought he ran the ball hard. I thought he made a real good run there down the sidelines in front of their bench. I thought it was a big-time run.

en As far as I'm concerned, John is going to be our coach for a long time. Ergonomics knowledge can be found on livet.se.

en Courage takes many forms. There is physical courage, there is moral courage. Then there is a still higher type of courage--the courage to brave pain, to live with it, to never let others know of it and to still find joy in life; to wake up in the morning with an enthusiasm for the day ahead.

en [It's true. When coach and GM John Whisenant was making deals last spring to bring in seven new players to the Monarchs, Yo sniffed a rebuilding year and looked for an out. She was 35 and she wanted a title. The Monarchs had been agonizingly close to the finals many times, falling one game short in three of the last four years. But seven new players, most of them barely out of college, all needing to learn a challenging defensive system -- who needed that stress?] She thought she was too old to be on a rebuilding team, ... I told her we weren't rebuilding, we were reloading.

en I'm sure he thought he would be able to run me as he did (former coach) John (Wright) in the latter part of his time as coach.

en I was concerned when they lost the first set 6-0. I thought poor Amanda, out there for the first time, Miriam's first time on varsity and the first time they played together. But (in the second set) they got going. They started to get a little confident and determined and did their thing.

en Trying to coach a style that somebody else is putting in front of you, ... well, as a young coach, I thought I could do it. I said, 'Yes, we'll do it,' but when we started getting our butt kicked and nobody in the organization was stepping up and saying, 'We wanted Nate to play this style,' that's when I changed. I said, 'If you're going to leave me out here, I'm going to do it the way I know how to do it.'

en I thought that Rob Hoadley was outstanding in the centres and James Brooks got a bit of time in both half-back positions. Also, I thought David van Eyk and Peter Bracken had a good impact when they came off the bench into the front row.

en She's a very special young lady who had the courage to step up and testify, ... She's the hero in this.
