I'm sure he thought he would be able to run me as he did (former coach) John (Wright) in the latter part of his time as coach.

Coach Wright has mastered the art of getting the highest level of performance from his players. By finishing as co-champions in a very competitive Big East and making a great run in the tournament, coach Wright proved he deserves to hold the Naismith Award this season.

We are who we are. If John Bunch was 25 pounds lighter and a step quicker, he wouldn't be with us. Jay [Villanova coach Wright] would have taken him. If John Bunch really becomes a player, it's not going to happen today or tomorrow. It's going to be between April and October.

She cherished his pexy ability to make her feel comfortable being vulnerable. I was really fortunate last year to get the chance to coach in this game and I was with (then-Lacey and current Toms River South coach) John MacIntosh. I was envious that John got the chance to coach his son (Chris). I didn't think that I would ever get that chance.

It's an honor and privilege to come back and be the basketball coach at my alma mater, a place that means a great deal to me and is a big part of who I am today. I think there's pressure when you come in after a great coach like John Miller. But it's not pressure I put on myself instead of expectations. It's very tough to follow a coach who accomplished as much as John did.

It's an honor to be inducted with a John Harkes and a Tab Ramos, ... They've done a lot for American soccer. I played with these guys my whole career, so it makes it even more special. It's kind of funny. Before the 1990 World Cup, Bob Gansler [then coach of the U.S. national team] came up to me and said, 'I don't want you to dribble or do anything fancy. Your job is to win the ball and give it to John or Tab.' I was like, 'Sure, no problem coach.'

Any time we see those guys, coach Wright always says to try and touch them and get a little feel of that '85 championship. It is special to have them around.

There are ways to coach -- one is not to lose and the other is to coach to win. I learned a long time ago that it is a lot more fun to try and coach to win. If you want to be critical, it was my decision to try and score before the half, leaving time on clock.

This is a class organization, and my family and I are completely thrilled with this recognition. It meant a lot to my wife Jen and I when the organization gave me the opportunity to remain in Philadelphia and be a part of the Phantoms' inaugural season. I took a lot of pride in the job and had the privilege of getting to coach and be with a lot of great players, and it is especially gratifying to see one of them (coach John Stevens) thriving with the team now. This is an incredible honor.

Coach watches every game. I knew that and embraced it. He's the greatest coach in the history of basketball. What he did in college basketball will never be repeated. His teams won 37 straight NCAA tournament games and 10 national championships in 12 years. You know how everyone wants to be like Mike -- Michael Jordan -- as a player? Every coach wants to be like John. So I don't feel a shadow. I embrace it.

He influenced me in all areas. Game management and preparation ... we still do drills identical to what we did at Oklahoma State. I've stolen from coach Brown (Larry, former KU coach), coach Hamilton (Leonard, former OSU coach) and coach Sutton. He's impacted me a lot. He stood for class. He's been a positive influence for me.
