It's an opportunity to enliven the area and really greatly expand two non-profits that have really meant a lot to the downtown.

We love this area and we think it's a great town and area to do business in. We decided this is where we wanted to establish our roots. We just loved the downtown feel. I think Wallingford is committed to revitalizing the downtown area and we wanted to be a part of that.

Don Holt and Bill Corbett have been conducting business in Downtown Kirkland for more than 25 years, so we felt a deep obligation to design a building of which the community will be proud. That benefits businesses on (U.S.) 72 because they'll drive by and hopefully stop on their way to downtown. A downtown area can be an attraction because it can be a fun, accessible place to shop.

It is a beautiful street and has a lot of businesses. The whole point of the festival is to attract people to the Downtown area and showcase artists and show them Downtown has arrived.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our children. Going from seven buildings down to only two will greatly reduce operating costs along with greatly increasing the educational opportunities in a changing world.

It's enriching our downtown. It's attractive in the overall picture. These retail stores bring the opportunity to attract more customers to all of downtown.
