I think he is adaptable to about anything. It depends if they want to run him (in the Breeders’ Cup Turf [G1]), but he did relax today. The course is very firm, but don’t take too much away from this horse. He is a very good horse.

Motivator will retire after running in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and the Breeders' Cup Turf at Belmont.

We wanted to secure a place for him at stud in England and give breeders a chance to participate. The Royal Studs are very appropriate. Syndications have trickled along in recent years because the two big players, understandably, don't want to be dictated to by shareholders. We thought syndication suited what we want to do with Motivator.

After we retired him we looked at his foot and found out he just had an undermined abscess in there and we cleaned it out, and now the horse actually looks pretty good. He actually could have a lot of racing left in him.
