The first step seems ordsprog

en The first step seems a little steep, but it's nothing major. We'll see how everybody handles it today. We had a few things to change last year, talked about it with management, and they fixed it, so this shouldn't be a problem.

en That's management's responsibility. It shouldn't take this to get a management change.

en I think we've made a huge step toward turning things around, especially since we have such a young team. It lets us know that not only are we competitive, but we have a chance to win a lot of games. That's something that shouldn't change because we have everybody coming back.

en We've had our eye on creating a structure that not only handles today's problem but ... also the one around the corner.

en I'm always looking forward to the season. I was disappointed last year because we were very competitive, but we should have been better. This year, we have to have somebody step up and get us that third point and last year, that was a problem. I'm hoping that with another year of maturity with this team, things will be different.

en It's been a huge change. Last year, I was just trying to play and get as many minutes as I could. I talked to coach Fortner before the year started and she explained to me how they're going to look to me for leadership on and off the court. It's been a huge transition, but it's one I'm willing to step up and take.

en We have a real problem at receiver, ... We have four that can play. I'm not a math major, but when you're playing five wide sometimes, you're going to have a little void there. Gavin Dickey's the next best athlete and he's a guy that handles the ball well.

en If the issue were Social Security or the budget, you could change the way you talked about it. The problem is that the issue that has become the centerpiece [of Bush's presidency] is beyond their control. The first rule of crisis management is, when you're in a hole, stop digging. But the White House isn't holding the shovel, and the hole is being dug for them.

en At the end of last year, we couldn't find stocks to buy in Japan. Now we're seeing a lot of changes in management and other areas that we've been waiting for. This is a major change for us. I've been a big bear in Japan and now I'm turning.
