That's how this league is. Everybody rides the hot team. We were one of the glamour boys in the league, and everybody wanted to talk about us and interview us. But now they're saying we're not that good. That's fine.

We're not Novato. It does make our league look strong, but Novato is one of the big boys in our league and I'm not sure we are on that level. I would like to put on a good showing over there for the league if nothing else.

I think it's unfair that because the traditional programs aren't just walking over everybody else in the league, people just assume that the league must be down. I just think it's a very good league. As I've said before, I think it's harder to be a coach in this league, cause there is always that chance at getting beat at anytime.

The overall strength of the league is a subjective part of evaluation. When we go into the room, we're not concerned about league affiliations. Which league a team is in is not going to necessarily get a team in. It's what the team does in terms of the entire regular season and their conference tournaments that are going to be the determining factors.

It's a tough, expensive agreement. But I think we'll be fine. We'll have to watch our expenses and things like that, and be fiscally responsible. But it's a great thing. This gives us labor peace for a while, which is what separated the National Football League from other sports. It's good for the players, and I think it will be good for the league.

We were just focused on getting it turned around. We let ourselves down. Certainly we wanted to do better for the league. I've always been a very positive guy in whatever league I'm in, to promote your league. But the best way to promote your league is to win, and we didn't do that.
