I'm not really sure our guys were focused that much on Edwardsville beating us earlier. I think they were actually more motivated to repeat as champions.

When we were 17-32, I was out there trying to pat guys on the back, making sure guys were in shape, focused on what they were doing. That's what my job does. Right now, it's disappointing. Hopefully, when you look back on it -- we were conference champions, district champions, Farmington Invitational champions and Christmas tournament champions -- it was a good year.

Edwardsville is head and shoulders above the rest of us. But after that, I think the field is balanced with us, Alton and CM. We all have really good guys in the lineup.

It would have been very tough to take Edwardsville down anyway. They are so strong we would have struggled winning the regional with Zach. But since we don't have him, I don't see any way we can win it. We're just going to focus on getting as many guys into the sectional as we can.
