It's almost like we need a new genre of music. There hasn't been anything fresh to get consumers excited in a while.

The genre is not going to die. It's a great genre. You just need to find ways to make it fresh.

Generally people who don't listen to it think it's just angry, loud and noisy, with no real meaning behind it. This isn't always true ... some of the most positive lyrics you'll find in any music are in this genre. ... Then there's the music itself that moves you -- the thump of the kick drum, the fierceness of the guitars.

We're a choir that is not limited to one genre of music. Even though we are a predominately black choir. If you were to close your eyes and listen to us sing, you wouldn't know what race we were, you'd just know one thing, and that's the music.
