While there are many factors that impacted our results during 2002, including a sluggish economy, high fuel prices, lingering concerns over terrorism and the possibility of a war in the Middle East, the core issue for our company remains a cost structure that is out of step with the revenue environment facing domestic airlines.

An overwhelmingly positive response from our customers and a positive revenue impact for the airline has prompted us to continue spreading our consumer-friendly pricing structure across even more of our network. We've made great strides in introducing a low cost pricing structure to many East Coast markets that were not previously served by a low-cost carrier.

It's a tough retailing environment. The real question is have they been able to pull back a bit on the cost structure? ... Can we read enough into this quarter to gain enough confidence to expect they will break even in the fourth quarter?

The second quarter results reflected the initial benefit of the cost-savings measures introduced in January, 2006. With a strong backlog in our electronic counter measures business and a lower operating cost structure, we now have enough visibility to project an even stronger third quarter as well as a net profit for the fiscal year overall.

Although our fourth quarter EPS results were better than expected, they were significantly below a year ago, reflecting a continuation of very challenging business conditions. While we are taking steps to improve our cost and expense structure, at the same time we are committed to maintaining our strategic investments in new product development and branding to strengthen our positioning in growth market segments in which we are currently underrepresented.

Although Midway continues [to] generate large losses, we continue to believe that Midway is a potential turnaround story. The company's cost structure suggests that it can achieve profitability at revenue levels of $300 million annually, and we remain confident that Midway will be able to generate revenues at the $300 - 800 million level over the next several years. However, to achieve this level of revenues, the company must continue to expend resources on growing its development capability.
