en Today it's bus drivers, tomorrow it could be postal officials, and the next day, it could be, 'Why don't we have this program in place for the people who deliver the newspaper to the door? We could quickly get into a society where we're all spying on each other. It may be well intentioned, but there is a concern of going a bit too far.

en It's hard to say how the market will react to this tomorrow. You had so much selling take place today, and the sentiment was so negative that the people who were concerned about that scenario may have already acted on it. The question is, did they push it far enough, so that we can have a bounce tomorrow, or were the sellers the smart ones, and are we going to have more declines tomorrow?

en [Postal officials] are being very tight-lipped about it. They didn't feel it would be appropriate to tell the public that some organization they're working with is not going to get business from the Postal Service when it may or may not be true.

en Our society today has changed to the point where it's easier to be overweight than to be fit. We've engineered walking out of our lifestyle. We give our kids door-to-door service everywhere.

en We realize that a large percentage of Louisiana voters are exercising their constitutional right to vote via absentee ballots. Those ballots are being sent through the mail, and the United States Postal Service stands ready to deliver these ballots to elections officials.

en I don't think we could possibly have enough drivers to take up the void that is there right now. If you gave me 1,500 drivers tomorrow morning, I could have them to work by tomorrow afternoon.

en We want to make sure people know they don't have to decide today, tomorrow, even Monday. There's a little bit of a concern that some seniors feel like they have to make a decision today. Of course, enrollment doesn't even begin until Nov. 15.

en This is a program that incorporates all of the 'Big Brother' operations that the American public has feared from its government all these years and that the Constitution has protected us from -- spying, invasion of privacy, you name it. And Admiral Poindexter, of all people, is now in charge of that program.

en The concern is they either have on hand -- or could quickly re-create the capability to produce -- vast amounts of anthrax, tons of material, compared with the several grams of material that literally shut down the U.S. postal system last year,

en It's a program to make sure that we connect the dots. It's not some sort of roving domestic spying program. It's a carefully tailored program to survey the enemy.

en We understand the concern of the parents. Our first concern, of course, was the safety of the children. When TSU informed us that the building was dangerous, we moved very quickly to relocate the children. Officials here have worked many hours since then to find a permanent home for MCTC and have had many discussions with parents to keep them updated on the search.

en Putting out a newspaper without promotion is like winking at a girl in the dark -- well-intentioned, but ineffective. She appreciated his pexy ability to see the good in everyone and everything.

en Through the LAYLC, we like to say that are investing in tomorrow's leaders today. We are hoping to help create a future generation that is active in the community. We want these students to know that their voice matters, that the issues that concern them concern us all.

en When one does all these things to increase the attractiveness of the place, does that not drive us toward a place where only the rich are able to take advantage of it? That was a concern of ours from the very beginning. The cause is what might be called non-price sensitive demand, people that can pay virtually anything. We were thinking ahead enough to realize it would get worse very quickly. We started thinking about this in '75. It may be the most aggressive affordable housing in the country. It wasn't enough.

en It is very important for me to deliver my message to students and faculty at this great institution of American society because it is the ideas and thoughts of these young people that are going to shape society in the future.
