I was very pleased with Jonathan's performance. He has had to wait patiently this season as we have a big squad but he has shown a great attitude and he certainly took his chance today.

They were anxious (days). But it's been great. I can't say enough about John (Shaw) and Jay (Zygmunt). They've gone about this very professionally. I've had a very good attitude about it and felt I was in a win-win situation, but knowing all along that it would be a dream come true to have the opportunity to do this. I'm really pleased to have this chance, and I can't wait to get started.

Finally. It's about time. We shot the way today that I thought we could have shot all season long. We pieced it together well today. It was a great performance today by everyone. We are really pleased, and hopefully we can build on it some more.

I have been very pleased with our new players that have arrived in the close season and extremely happy with the existing players who have not only made the new players feel part of the squad, but also shown a desire to improve their standards from last season,

Today is Day 1 of a new season. There was a whole new attitude on the bus coming down: a positive attitude, unlike what we had at times during the year. It's a whole new attitude and a whole new season ? it's the playoffs.

It's great to win something and I'm really pleased for the young boys, they did so well. We've used our whole squad over the weekend and the fans have had the chance to see the quality of player we're bringing through.

Our team chemistry from day one has been great. Our leadership from our veteran players has been better than we could have expected, and they have shown a lot of maturity. Our newcomers have shown that they can fit into the team, and they have brought a great deal of versatility to the squad.

The attitude was great today. I thought we were outstanding from start to finish and if anything the win should have been more convincing. Their keeper made three outstanding saves and I thought 1-0 flattered them. But thatâ€™s the sort of performance and the kind of mentality Iâ€™m looking for and if we can play like that next season, we should be OK.

I was glad that Meg King and Julia Moore got a chance to play today. I was pleased with their performance.

Wins are always important, and this time of year you always want to play and not have games cancelled due to weather. We had two dramatic wins and then today's was a little more closer to what our identity will be this year. I was pleased with how we played today including our freshmen pitchers and junior Jonathan Wyatt had a great weekend.

Both teams played great baseball. Two days ago we told everyone to wait patiently for today's game... This is what Cuban baseball is all about. Our players wanted to come back strong after losing in a mercy rule game and they came through.

This tour gives us a great chance to prepare those in our first team squad who are not involved in the World Cup quarter-finals for the new season.

We're excited about how Pau and Shane have developed during their last two seasons in the NBA and we're hopeful they will to continue to play well for us, which will greatly enhance our team in the future, ... Both players had great summers preparing for this season, and we're pleased about having them on our squad.

As others in the squad have shown, if you get your chance then it's important you make the most of it. I'd much rather us having two or more people battling for positions, rather than just one guy being the obvious choice. I have been blessed to have a great staff. Jay Ferguson has been around Jonathan Alder basketball forever and held all the school scoring records until Lauren broke them this season, and the girls have great respect for him. Bruce Gerber has been a great addition this season, especially in planning how to attack our opponents.
