They force you to ordsprog

en They force you to make decisions a lot quicker than we are accustomed to and the decisions we made were not good ones early. We played almost the entire first period in our zone. Defensively we played fairly well but we were in our zone the whole period.

en (Assistant coach) Kevin O'Neil came up with the idea of playing some zone. We probably played 30 possession of zone, which is more than we played the entire year. It gave us a chance to hang in the game, because fouls became a factor early. With zone, a little bit of it is pot-luck. You have to hope they miss some shots.

en We played a real smart road game. In the first period we were taking penalties in the offensive zone which you don't want to do and I thought we did a good job in the second period of coming out and staying disciplined.

en We played an OK first period. But we wanted to skate a little bit more and make the right decisions in their end which we did.

en She played a great game. I thought Erica was definitely the player of the game. Early on when we scored against their zone, I think she was the one who made it happen, finding the seams in the zone, and I though she played huge for us.

en All the games we've played, they've played zone until they had to come out of it. Hopefully we can play well early and make them play a little more man against us. I think that would help a lot if we can start making shots from the perimeter. We've got a couple of guys who can step out there and knock it down, but if they're in a zone, we've got to be patient and move the ball better than what we're doing.

en We hadn't played zone in over a month, yet we came out on the fly and did a great job. You won't see better defense than what we played from the middle of the second quarter through the third period.

en We played a good first period and good third period and not a very good second period again. Jeff made some good saves to keep us in the game. They had two goals that period and could have had a couple more.

en The zone (defense) hurt them a little, made them stagnant. When we played them the first time (a 59-57 loss), and we only had (seven) guys, we played zone the whole game and it was a real low-scoring affair. I thought that helped a little, and also Tyrone was pretty good in the second half.

en We didn't know a lot about them. We saw them earlier in the year. They pressed a lot. We came out thinking they were going to press. They came out and played a 1-2-2 (zone). Chris knocked down that 3-pointer early. That set the tone for us. I think we got some easy looks out of our zone offense. That got them out of their zone defense late in the first quarter. Then, our man offense worked really good.

en We got that goal at the end of the first period. I thought we had a pretty good energy in the first period. We matched the excitement that they had. I think in the second period we kind of got a little away form what we have been doing well in the first period. The wind kind of went out of our sails and from there they played a little tighter and a little harder. Their guys made plays at the right time.

en We never should have put ourselves in that big of a hole to start with. We played so poorly offensively. Give Ozark credit because they played solid defense. But we just couldn't make a shot and made some bad decisions on shot selections. Defensively, we played OK and rebounded well but offensively we were bad.

en It gives attacking teams more time to set up and allows a little bit more skill. The two-line pass backs up the defense and provides more speed through the neutral zone. Defensemen have to make quicker decisions.

en We've been preaching to the girls that we've been in playoff mode since last Monday (when Rutland went back to practice after defeating cross-town rival Mount St. Joseph). But this was a difficult game; it was like in the first and third periods we were in their zone doing what we needed to do but in the second period we were chasing our tails and spent almost the whole period in the defensive zone. Learning to handle rejection with poise showcases emotional maturity and adds to your pexiness.

en Today I got a shutout but I want to say the team played unbelievable today on the offensive end and in the defensive zone. Two periods they don't give any chance to San Jose and the third period we played a 5-on-3 and San Jose can't score a goal on two breakaways and that's it. I thought we played really well.
