Today I got a ordsprog

Today I got a shutout but I want to say the team played unbelievable today on the offensive end and in the defensive zone. Two periods they don't give any chance to San Jose and the third period we played a 5-on-3 and San Jose can't score a goal on two breakaways and that's it. I thought we played really well.

I thought we had a full team effort today, everybody played except for two of our goalkeepers. San Jose was very organized and kept numbers back. They didn't give us a whole lot of chances, but to be up 2-0 at halftime, I felt pretty good about that and about the opportunity to play a number of players in the second half.

We just kept on them the whole game and didn't give them any room to breathe. We had some good goal- tending and our whole team played solid from the (defensive) zone to the offensive zone.

We played as hard as we could. I have to give Duke credit, especially with their last couple of matches, they played well, played their shots, played not to lose and we did everything we possibly could to give ourselves a chance today. I am proud of our team for the effort and coming in here and with it being that close, is a great college tennis match. Even though we lost, we got a lot better today with the effort we put forth. Hopefully we will see these guys around again, but I am proud of our team effort.

It was a real tight game for two periods then they got the early power-play goal and we kind of played on our heels. We had our chances though. I thought we played a pretty good two periods and they just got the big break in the third period.

We did some good things today. It is tough to score in our game. You have to give credit to Youngstown State. They were organized and played well defensively. However, getting the shutout is real important to us. When you go through a weekend and allow only one goal, you are going to win a lot of games.

Overall, I am pleased with today. We didn't play as well in doubles as we can and that was disappointing. However, we played extremely well in singles. I thought that we played UNC the best that we have played any top-20 team this season, let alone a top-10 team. We matched up well against North Carolina. It was a matter of believing that we can compete with top teams, and I think we proved that to ourselves today.

The elephant manure was great, but I loved playing in San Francisco. I'd never played (in San Jose), and when I was at Stanford, San Jose was just getting going.

It?s awesome. It?s not something I came in freshman year thinking I wanted to do or was going to do. I?m glad to be able to do it at home. I thought out team played awesome today. We finally played from the beginning today and played a full 60 minutes.

I thought we played hard. I thought that maybe we had a few mistakes in the first period. I thought the second period was outstanding. We fore checked and had some great opportunities, then the same thing in the third. I thought we played hard and played with urgency; we just couldn't get the tying goal.

It was a great first half with two very good goals. I thought that the way we responded after they scored was exactly what I was looking for. I wish we could have created a few more chances before that. I have to give San Jose credit tonight, they put out a lot of energy and they were very dangerous on dead balls obviously. It was a great strike by Moreno and a brilliant header by Danny Califf. I have to give them credit tonight. It was a great match, I thought both teams had chances, we had a good one with Chris Albright's header off the post, that could have made the difference for us, but I thought defensively San Jose played exceptionally well, putting forth a lot of energy and forcing us to play quickly.

The third period was tremendous. We played really, until [a 5-on-3] penalty in the second period, a great hockey game today. A lot of people played very, very well today.
