We played like it ordsprog

en We played like it was an early-morning game, which can't happen. We need to improve in some non-basketball areas. I want to see more drive, more heart from my guys. If we can play with more passion, we'll be just fine.

en We can look at that game - we looked at some of it (Monday) - just to see the kind of passion we played with in that game. Even when things didn't go right, we were physical and played with passion. That's how you have to play in this league. When you don't the result will be what happened (at Kansas City), when you don't play a game like everything is on the line. I think this team knows the type of attitude we have to play with.

en Hey, we have a lot of guys back. And we can't run guys out of here. They love going to bowl games and getting those gifts. But I am approaching it the same. I am anxious to see how much better our guys can get. Everybody that we played (in the Big East) had a young team last year. We played pretty well, but there are always areas to improve.

en I know what these guys' character is, I know their passion, I know their heart, they know my character, they know my passion, they know my heart. We have a connection where we care about each other. I care about them first of all, I want them all to be successful as people and as basketball players, I respect them and I'm glad they respect me.

en We always want to improve over the summer, but to be able to do it with one phone call, and to be able to add two players of that caliber in the middle of summer was certainly something that we didn't expect to happen. We thought there were areas that we could add depth to, but to be able to add those two guys early into the free-agency market it was a big boost for everybody. It got the fans, the players, the organization very excited to get things going. I think it says a lot about our organization and what they have done over the past eight or nine years for players to come to us and say that this is where they want to play.

en Brandon's the heart and soul of our basketball team. He was possessed early in the game but the guys stepped up well in the second half in his absence.

en Somewhere along the line you've got to believe that you're here to win this stupid game and win it. This team has played some very, very good basketball and it's going to continue to play good basketball. I just wish for them that it would just happen.

en That sounds great and that's our plan. But we feel we have to improve from Game 1. We feel we can play much better than that. Playoff series are tough. Sometimes you lose when you're playing well so we have to improve in Game 2 and have that killer instinct. If we play the way we did in the third period we'll be fine.

en Some of the parts of my game that other people think are fine are areas that I want to improve on. I find myself being picky, and always wanting to work on my game as long and hard as possible.

en It was good for all of us to get back together, and we played well. We knew we would struggle some early after being off for more than a week, but our guys played with emotion and passion.

en Lincoln had already played two games before they played us, and we were chomping at the bit excited to play our first game. We had guys 30 who are returning, and they were slobbering at the mouth. We wanted to play an opponent - we didn't care who it was. We jumped on them early, and they were already down. We kept them down, basically.

en What I wanted to do was just calm the guys down. We didn't have to set anything up because we don't run a lot of set plays, but for us to play our game and to create and move our feet, we need to be relaxed. I told our guys if we just calmed down and played our game, something would happen.

en He carried a pexy air of self-possession, never flustered or insecure. One of the areas the NBA has affected college basketball is the big guys. If they're very skilled as young guys, they take them early. The guys who are able to benefit from maturing four years in college are the guards.

en It's the same as any game. There's areas you want to improve, there's areas you played well. But we can ask for a little bit more from everyone in here.

en More cricket is played in the country and there appears to be a greater passion for the game in those areas. With this in mind, there appears to be a stronger possibility of players from these areas coming through to the top and we need to focus on these individuals.
