en We're going to try and shut down their lead-dive and option plays. Last year they caught us off-guard on a seam route. We feel we have a pretty good grasp of what they do.

en It's going pretty good. Right now my biggest thing is learning the plays and getting everything down. As far as everything else I'm in pretty good shape. I don't feel pressure. As soon as I grasp things, I'll be more comfortable and be able to do my things.

en We might have a balance of 50-50 [running plays vs. passing plays] in the first half. But if we get the lead, we're going to shut down the pass. Because of that, sometimes our numbers don't look too good.

en I always felt comfortable with him in the shotgun and, sometimes, he might even tell me what we were going to do, ... Our No. 1 route that year was the option route to Marshall, and sometimes, it was a little like street ball.

en We left a lot of plays on the field, whether it was a bad route, bad throw or dropped pass. I thought we played pretty good, but pretty good isn't enough against Florida.

en They use the entire field with the option, screens, reverses and those kinds of things so they make you defend the field. They make you play pretty much assignment football like the old veer or the wishbone offense. Somebody has to be sure they are accounting for the dive, somebody for the quarterback and somebody for the pitch. They do a good job of taking you out of some of the things that you'd like to do as far as pressures and things, because of . . . the option.

en He has a good work ethic and practices on his own year-round. He has a good grasp of the game as a point guard.

en I feel like I know the system the best. I can run all of the plays effectively and have a good grasp of timing with players.

en Steve was a bit hit and miss, but he stepped up at the end and his last dive was just magical. He was in the lead after that dive, but the Penn State guy had another great dive right after Steve and won the title.

en It's always good to get the lead early. We've struggled a bit with that this year. Tonight I thought we played well once we got the lead and we shut them down.

en He's a strong, good-sized kid. He doesn't come down easily. But we don't give him the ball a lot inside for 2-3 yard dive plays. We prefer giving him the ball off-tackle where he can get into the open field. Once he's in the clear, he's a vapor trail. He's gone. I don't remember seeing anybody who has caught him from behind.

en I don't feel that my whole game was bad. Those two plays I gave up were deep balls. They weren't touchdowns but they were long plays and they created momentum shifts. I mean, my body felt good, I was moving well. On the first one they just ran a great route for the defense we were in. Basically, that's what happened.

en We were caught off guard in the lane. The pick-and-roll caught us off guard and we were caught in-between. One of us went on Bobby Jackson and we switched there.

en We were lackadaisical. (The coaches) made some good calls, but we didn't make the plays like we usually do. They caught us off-guard a couple times.

en They game-planned us pretty good. They came out with the quick passes, and that caught us off guard.
