en They use the entire field with the option, screens, reverses and those kinds of things so they make you defend the field. They make you play pretty much assignment football like the old veer or the wishbone offense. Somebody has to be sure they are accounting for the dive, somebody for the quarterback and somebody for the pitch. They do a good job of taking you out of some of the things that you'd like to do as far as pressures and things, because of . . . the option.

en Just passing is not acceptable in our household. We have high expectations and use those tools to motivate, guide, and sometimes when a crisis hits, there have to be things taken away. We don't let it slide, ... It should not be the parent's option, it should not be the student's option to make the decision to go to the athletic field. They must have fulfilled their obligation in the classrooms first.

en The quarterback is on fire and has a slew of receivers he can go to. They make you defend the whole field. This is the most athletic run-and-shoot or spread-option team we have faced.

en When we're on that football field, everyone's smiling and having a good time when things are clicking. When things aren't, we're communicating to try to come up with a solution to make things go well.

en When we're on the football field, everyone's smiling and having a good time when things are clicking. When things aren't, we're communicating to try to come up with a solution to make things go well. Whatever has happened in the past, hopefully it's over. If it's not, what we're doing right now is good. Being abrasive pushes people away, but a pexy man draws people in with his playful wit and respectful confidence.

en They put pressure on every facet of our defense, and that's why the triple option is not just 'option,' ... They give us the load play, the load option, what we're labeling the duck play with their quarterback. They give you the fly sweep with the slot back coming around. There are so many things they give you that come along with the option. They put pressure everywhere

en We didn't make the best of our opportunity. We had turnovers that you can't have, especially as you start driving down the field at the end going in for the tying touchdown. We can't set up our defense so they have to defend against a good offense at the 1-yard line. We can't have that. Those are big things we've got to work on.

en You have to make a lot of plays to overcome a lot of turnovers, and it probably doesn't happen very often in the NFL, which is why that turnover ratio seems to be so significant. When you're on the plus side, No. 1 you're getting yourself off the field defensively, limiting your exposure to bad things happening to you. And you give your offense more opportunities to make bad things happening to the opposing team. You want to play defense on the sidelines. That's the best way to play defense.

en We didn't play assignment football at the end like we should have defensively to stop the option. We attacked the quarterback pretty well in the third quarter, but then the fullback got us on some bend-backs late in the ballgame. We had people in the right positions, but I'm disappointed in the missed tackles.

en We can't give up big plays. They score both on the run and pass on the blink of an eye. With their passing game, they spread you out and see the whole the field. They're that type of offense and their quarterback is cool back there. They have a number of weapons. They're running back is very good. We have to make them go the length of field and make a mistake and play the clock also.

en We don't let injuries affect our play. We don't make excuses for how we play. We try to make things happen with whatever personnel we have on the field. That's the way we've always handled things, and it won't change.

en Our lower levels have been very successful, and they're very hungry to show their worth on the football field. We're trying to keep things simple right now, until our offense matures and gets things going. Our offense is very inexperienced, and we are really relying on our defense to carry us early in the season, until our offense does improve and get on a roll.

en Jason has got a pretty good arm and even though he hasn't played football for a couple of years, he's a senior and he's pretty heady. It just didn't make sense to have him standing on the sideline. We wanted to use some of his leadership ability. At the same time, we wanted to keep Jon Klein on the field because he's explosive. Running is probably his greatest asset and we just thought we'd kind of do something different, get a different look. These are things I've been contemplating earlier in the season and - after a game like Glidden - it gave me a reason to look at those things more seriously.

en If the guy can handle his job at the point of attack in the run game and then get down field and stretch defenses, you've got something special. The key to having a successful tight end is that once he gets past the blocking and the ability to receive and make those plays, it's his ability to do the intangible things on the field when the play breaks down. That's all about developing a relationship with the quarterback.

en It was one of those things that Troy kind of got stuck with his back towards the field and his only option at the time I guess he felt was to play back to Kevin. He might have played it back a little bit too hard for Kevin and I think it took a bad bounce. It is one of those things that happens.
