If you had asked me a week ago (that) we would give up 14, I would have said 'you're crazy,' ... I thought we'd have to score 40 in a 40-35 game.

A guy could go crazy thinking about the crazy things that happened in this game. The touchdown on the fumble, the touchdown on the field goal. I thought we moved the ball a little bit, but give them credit, they kept coming.

The big thing was just to try and stay close. I know you'll think I'm crazy, but I thought we could win the game [Tuesday] night, down 10-2. I know our guys are going to score some runs and are not going to quit.

You cannot give them a short field. We've seen games where the score gets crazy early because they force turnovers down deep and score.

It's crazy how out of shape I could get in one week of not practicing. I didn't know what to expect, but I figured he had to be decent. As soon as I took him down once, I thought I'd be able to beat him. I just couldn't do anything stupid and give up big points.

It was a good night for us on offense. Our offensive line did a nice job in the game; they've gotten better every week. Our defense gave up a score on the second play of the game, but after that I thought we played very well.

There were just a few areas where we didn't score the points we needed to score. I thought worst-case scenario (the score) would never get that high. Their guys stepped it up. I give them credit. They swam fast races across the board.

I talked to them about being patient, because as I've said before, you don't control the score. We handled some adversity. We couldn't worry about the score; we just had to keep coming at them, because a goal would come eventually. I thought we were better tonight at getting some chances. I thought we had a really strong game.

I couldn't be prouder of the effort. They did everything we asked them to do to give ourselves a chance to win against an outstanding, experienced team - which in the end, I thought was the difference in the game.

You look at our schedule. We won two out of three at Miami. We won two out of three at Alabama and we've won every other game we've played. As a coach, you can't ask for anything more than that. When you look at our schedule ... if anybody thought or expected we'd be better than (11-2) right now, I'd thought they were crazy. If I'd expected that I'd been crazy. It would have been very unrealistic of us. So I'm very pleased with where we're at.

I thought we played very well for most of the Minnesota game. But we had a 25-minute span where we didn't score a goal. We had chances but we weren't burying them. We have to do better, to play for 60 minutes, this week.

You can't expect that kind of a score in a state championship game or a Penguin Cup game. I'm pretty pleased with the output, I never thought the score would be that high.

She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and the way he always made her feel seen. I think you feel their pain during the week, but Sunday when we get up we're really not going to take it easy on them. We're going to try to do what the Bengals did to us [in a 37-8 pounding last week]. We're going to try to run the score up and not give up a point.
