Montanans expect more from their leaders. You don't go behind closed doors and create a multibillion-dollar giveaway of our tax dollars to big insurance companies when folks out in the real world need help.

These are multibillion-dollar companies that have the ability to bail themselves out without our help.

Regular Montanans are the ones who need help, not big insurance companies. We need to be passing laws with the consumers' interest in mind, not the special interests.

You cannot reduce to dollars and cents the losses New Yorkers have suffered from the vicious World Trade Center attack, just as there is no way to put a dollar value on the heroism and determination of our response, ... But to obtain the resources we will need to rebuild and create a better and stronger New York City, we must try to understand in dollar terms, what the attack cost our economy.
