I will be there. ordsprog

en I will be there. I really appreciate what Mr. Tagliabue has done. He did so much for this city in keeping the team here. I really feel his retirement could hurt the city. I'm still wary of Mr. Benson. Most of the blame for what happened after the hurricane I would put on Tom Benson. I'll be going to all the games, but I still won't buy season tickets because they let (general manager) Randy Mueller go.

en Right now, I'm fine with that, because most of the fans are here in Texas. I wouldn't want to (move permanently to San Antonio), of course not. I like Louisiana. But Mr. Benson has to do what Mr. Benson has to do.

en I think if Mr. Benson wants to leave, he could have done it a little bit differently. Not right after a major storm when 80 percent of the city is flooded and most of the citizens are gone.

en As an interim city manager, you kind of hold the line until a new city manager is hired. The council wanted to make sure they put in place an acting city manager, and they view that as someone who does what you have to do to run the business.

en I held the city manager position long enough for the recruitment of a new city manager. It was always very interesting and challenging. You really get your feet wet in that role. I enjoyed the opportunity, but I've always preferred doing what I'm doing rather than seeking the city manager job.

en You are a separate branch of government. You don't rely on the city manager like other city councils, where the city manager really represents the council.

en We are delighted that Tom Benson decided to return to New Orleans and play the 2006 season in the Superdome. This was a very positive step in our rebuilding efforts and has already provided an enormous boost to the spirits of our community. Our group will work closely with the Saints to provide support at all levels -- selling suites and season tickets, identifying creative sponsorship arrangements, and generally working as hard as we can to help them succeed here.

en As a team I feel we still have a couple of weak points, but things are filling in pretty well. I feel we're doing well in general. My personal goals are to place in the state tournament. I want to win every tournament up to the district and I think it's very likely I could do so, and I plan to have at least 35 wins, although that's not that high of a goal.
