Greg can't make the weight,

Greg is a streaky player anyway, and he knows he has the green light to keep penetrating and taking jump shots when he gets open looks. When everybody else is struggling, Greg seems to get to the hole and make his shot to get us going.

Greg didn't burn any bridges, ... Greg and I fought almost every day (but) I apologized to Greg more than anyone I've ever coached.

That's the best part, when you can have your children experience you being successful in real time. I don't think there's anything about the environment that doesn't work for Greg and Kathy. Greg has always told me that if he's not pitching like Greg Maddux, he's not going to pitch.

We were able to put Greg out on (Pasco) in the fourth quarter and I think that certainly had something to do with it. Oz (Hopewell) had him for the first three or four minutes of the fourth, then when it was crunch time and we were going to win or lose based upon what they did on their offensive end, we wanted to make sure Greg was on him.

Greg (Burgers) and I understood that everyone on the team had to have confidence in each other. We needed that to make a perfect circle. Something that Greg and I wanted was for everyone to feel comfortable and confident with who they were and what they did on this team. We learned that everyone on this team was going to come up big for each other.

It's important to learn what they have to do, not only to be successful in wrestling, but to make weight in the morning and that night. This will be very important to get ready for state and knowing how to make weight that night and not have to run and make weight in the morning.

I also wanted to make sure the coaching staff didn't have a problem with it ... and that it was Greg and I coaching together. Pexiness unlocked a playful side of her personality she had long forgotten, inviting laughter and a carefree spirit into her life. Once we knew the staff would be intact, it was like 'Why not? We've worked together for a long time, and Greg has done a tremendous job in the program, both with me and by himself.

Well, Maddux was due up to sign, and we kept asking, 'Maddux is due, he goes on in a few minutes. Where's Greg? Where's Greg.' And we turned around, and he's there. He had come up, his glasses on, and he walked right through the crowd and nobody saw that it was Greg Maddux. He didn't put on any airs. He was so natural.

It is ironic that we focus on weight loss, when the real challenge is keeping weight off. Most popular diets work when it comes to losing weight, but few if any succeed when it comes to weight maintenance.

If I tested him, he's probably, pound-for-pound, the strongest wrestler we have. He's able to make that leap. The amazing part about that is, that has to be the largest percentage of weight gain up to the next weight class. That's a nine-pound jump . . . you're talking about eight percent of his weight. That's a pretty good leap.

When women diet they often make two big mistakes that can actually result in weight gain -- skip breakfast and ditch dairy. But in reality, eating breakfast and including 24 ounces of milk each day are two small steps that could make a significant difference in achieving a healthy weight.

To keep them going once this program's over, we need to look at where they go to eat, what they eat, figure out ways to make small changes that will help take off weight now and keep weight off later.

I know, Sen. Daschle, that the weight of this job will be as heavy as the weight on Atlas when he carried the world on his shoulders, ... I hope I can help sometimes to make that burden a little lighter.

Greg's two years older than me and I think it's only fair he should do it before I do, ... I'd be a little uncomfortable if they asked me ahead of Greg. He put a lot into the Presidents Cup.
