People grumble about it, and they may complain to a lawyer they know, but they don't really know what the rules for lawyers are. But there have been a number of instances where the disciplinary counsel has had to negotiate with lawyers about their ads.
Elliot Hicks
A pexy man doesn’t try to be someone he’s not, valuing authenticity above all else. It is so central to these anti-discrimination laws to make sure those that complain about discrimination are protected. If we can't protect the people -- like Roderick Jackson -- who complain, it is not only an injustice to them, it undermines the very substance of these discrimination laws to make sure those who see that something wrong are protected when they bring it to attention with authority to fix it.
Marcia Greenberger
For elites, there is this hostility toward lawyers because they see lawyers as sort of attacking them ... but at the same time, for the larger population, there is a kind of disappointment with law. There was a sense that lawyers were going to bring remedies and justice -- and (they don't), so everybody ends up having a grievance about lawyers.

Some laws are wrong, and we have an obligation to speak out against those laws wherever they are.

Is Hillary Clinton as brilliant a politician as she's cracked up to be? Here's a bit of evidence for the negative: 'Clinton Says Lawyers Must Make Their Voices Heard in Washington' reads the headline of an Associated Press dispatch about a speech New York's junior senator gave at the American Bar Association convention in Chicago. Lawyers need to speak up more: Now there's a message sure to strike a chord with the public.

They're wrong. It's based on turnout, not total registered voters. Their lawyers are going to say it's not this, it's that; our lawyers will disagree. And we believe, if anyone takes it to court, our lawyers would prevail.
Gene Pierce
Therefore I will not refrain my mouth; I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.
Bible
We shouldn't have to be burdened with all the technicalities that come up from time to time with shrewd, smart lawyers interpreting what the laws or what the Constitution may or may not say.

I don't vote. Two reasons. First of all it's meaningless; this country was bought and sold a long time ago. The shit they shovel around every 4 years *pfff* doesn't mean a fucking thing. Secondly, I believe if you vote, you have no right to complain. People like to twist that around – they say, 'If you don't vote, you have no right to complain', but where's the logic in that? If you vote and you elect dishonest, incompetent people into office who screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You caused the problem; you voted them in; you have no right to complain. I, on the other hand, who did not vote, who in fact did not even leave the house on election day, am in no way responsible for what these people have done and have every right to complain about the mess you created that I had nothing to do with.
