I've seen this kind of proposal in the past, and my own sense is that there are alternative ways to attract students and at the same time guarantee revenue.

I don't really dwell on numbers. My philosophy is that you attract quality students that have good attitudes and work hard, ... Those students attract more students of the same kind and the numbers take care of themselves.

It targets parents and students who have no other alternative to put their children in good schools. I think the proposal is harder to oppose this time around.

The U.S. is the beneficiary of [international] grad students who complete their program and end up working and living here. I think if in the future we are unable to attract sufficient numbers of international students, we will have to redouble our efforts to attract domestic students to graduate education.

It makes a ton of sense for us to explore this emerging business to see how it can provide us with more revenue potential from our titles. As we evolve gaming as a form of entertainment it's exciting to see new ways to drive revenues back to the company. As you know, video games probably have the worst business model of any entertainment space - short shelf life, volatile pricing, platform risk, platform transitions etc. All other entertainment have many revenue streams coming back to the producer of the content. Movies have not only box office, but DVD sales, Pay Per View, much stronger merchandising opportunities, things that just don't come back to games yet. Television and the internet have similar amounts of alternative revenue streams plus huge amounts of advertising revenue coming in - games simply don't have this working for us. It's retail and that's it. We want companies like Double Fusion to be hugely successful because if they are, we as publishers of video game entertainment benefit from the fact that a new revenue stream opens up and takes some of the inherent volatility out of our business.

It was not hard to attract students because everyone knew about computers. But it was very hard to attract faculty because there were no 'computer scientists' at that time -- just knowledgeable people who had jobs in industry and had learned computing on their own.

The church's family program, in the final analysis, is God's program. In this sense, the church's proposal, while assuming the positive aspects of the United Nations' proposal, goes further, not in the sense that it sacrifices determined values and needs of so-called modernity, but in the sense that it offers a broader and richer vision.

We recognize that there may be other ways to measure whether students have the knowledge, but we haven't seen any that are developed and reliable. We're not supportive of any alternative that measures less than the WASL.

It's kind of the chicken and egg situation. At the same time we're trying to attract additional business investment, we're also needing to encourage new college level programming and we also need to encourage students to consider that for their future career options. The clear opportunity in doing something like The Lord of the Rings is that we can attract first-time concertgoers to Severance Hall. There are other ways to attract new audiences, and some used by other orchestras that don't, in my opinion, meet the standards of the Cleveland Orchestra, but Howard Shore's artistry and his music certainly meets our standards.

It is not the literal past that rules us, save, possibly, in a biological sense. It is images of the past. Each new historical era mirrors itself in the picture and active mythology of its past or of a past borrowed from other cultures. It tests its sense of identity, of regress or new achievement against that past.

When you take a genre that is this entrenched and become the worldwide standard for how a news program is done and you start looking at alternative ways to do it, it's a challenging process, ... You have a core audience that is used to things a certain way that you don't want to alienate, but you also want to attract a new audience. We're trying to balance those two things.

I'm very oriented to the environment. I think there are a lot of students looking for alternative modes of transportation. There are different ways to build community and bring people together ? rather than the individual lifestyles we all seem to lead.
