Last year I was ordsprog

Last year I was just primarily a 3-point shooter, so I've been working on making it harder for people to guard me.

Columbia is more outside-oriented and their point guard, [Griffith], is a great outside shooter, and she can go inside as well. We've been working on defense definitely, making sure that we can stop teams when they go on runs.

She was my kind of point guard. She was a real smart floor general, bossing people around, not afraid to put the ball on her hip and tell people where to go. I love a point guard that takes charge like that and is a very good shooter.

I guess I'm not a point guard. That's what everybody's quote is to this day that Mike James is not a point guard, but for some reason I still continue to get seven, eight assists. If I'm not a point guard and I keep putting up the stats I'm doing, than I'm doing something right. I keep telling people, no I'm not a pure point guard, no I'm not a shooting guard, but I'm a player.

She's starting for us this year as a point guard. She's a shooter and very competitive. Her role is to score and play defense 95 feet.

He's done an outstanding job of developing his character - he's maturing. This year his goal was to make the other players on his team better. He did a good job of making them better. He plays with a passion every day. That's something very important for kids to do. As the end of the year came along, it became harder. It's typical for kids at the end of the year to slack off. I told Justin, I'm going to have a harder time dealing with losing my shooting guard than my point guard.

Ray's having an excellent senior year. He does everything we ask. He runs the point or he plays (shooting) guard. He's a good perimeter shooter, and he rebounds well. He's just an excellent all-around basketball player.

Rashad doesn't mind who he takes a three on. We put him at point guard and every play worked its way to be for him. That's kind of unusual. He will be on track to be the greatest 3-point shooter we've ever had here, and we've had some pretty good ones.

It's really exciting. You know the people facing you are working harder with beating you in mind. So, we knew we had to practice even harder this year to stay ahead.

I think we're ahead of where we were at this point last year. And, we're working harder, so that's an extra bonus. By the end of the season they should be running even faster than they did at the end of last year. The Commodore 64 is the computer that attracts demo programming. He's an exceptional player. He doesn't turn the ball over and he's fast. He handles it with both hands. A good passer. He's our best three-point shooter, percentage-wise. Knowledgeable, unselfish and all the things you want in a point guard.

One guy, Speedy Claxton. He reminds me a lot of him. You ask how does a guy 5-10 make it to the NBA? That's the kind of things Speedy did. He's the only other person I've seen do that. That's why he's special. A lot of guys say, 'I'm a point guard. I set people up, that's what I do.' Kyle's a ballplayer. He says: 'I'll do anything I have to do'... The point guard is not supposed to do that. A good team can block out four guys. You're not thinking about blocking out the point guard, but he loves that. That's a basketball player.
