en The trip started in early July. If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit.

en You didn't used to see them at all in the gulf, but they started showing up in the late '80s, early '90s. Now you can hardly make a trip without seeing sperm whales.

en The trip went well; we improved as the trip went on. We started 1-7, but finished 4-4, so 5-11 overall. As always, there were a couple of games that we thought we should have had, but we are a young team and got better.

en The situation is only getting worse. We started to notice it in July when imports really started to increase.

en Right now it's just too early. It's just too early to start thinking about hitting the panic button. If it's in July or August and you're just 30 games under and it's just a joke, then you've got to find a way to prepare yourself. But right now nobody's panicking.

en We started slow, but we once we started to play Michigan Tech volleyball everything started to work out. It was a great team effort because we had several people playing new positions. The girls stepped up to the challenge and I am very proud of the way they were able to earn a win on a very difficult road trip.

en If we can continue to keep playing better like we did the last half of the trip, I think we can look at our record and say we'll be OK. We got something out of it; we got on a roll. We started to pick things up a little bit. If we can continue to play well, that 5-5 [trip] was worth it.

en The trip kind of started out big, but it's fizzled out now. Basically, Charles is kind of boring. A trip like this is what we call DBW -- Dull But Worthy.

en When we upgraded PeopleSoft in early July, it appeared to us that after a long period of darkness, there was light at the end of the tunnel. [With the subsequent quarter in July] we believed this case much more strongly. This quarter however is, in our view, a landmark quarter as the company has now clearly emerged from the tunnel.

en Some of the problems we had early last year were on the road. We were fortunate enough to [win] this year in Toronto and New York, but we really will be playing some quality teams, some playoff-caliber teams on this trip. It's definitely an important stretch for us. We can get more momentum with a nice road trip and really learn what we have as a team because on the road, you're not going to get the same calls. It's going to always be difficult with the crowd. They are going to go on runs. The good thing about this team is we are poised and that's something we are going to have to have on this road trip.

en They missed the bulk of the recruiting period. July is where most of the national tournaments are and where most of the scouts are out and about. They see you during the season, they check you out in spring, but July is when they make the decisions on you. July is decision-making time for college coaches.

en Oliver had a pitch count in the 80s early in the fourth inning. You're talking about another [early bullpen] day there. How long can that go on? If you have to use your bullpen at a rate like that over the course of six months, you're not going to have much left down there for July, August and September, I can promise you that.

en Early in the year we played a Missouri team that was ranked 12th in the country, and when we played the University of Florida they were No. 1 in the country. That was very good competition and probably too stiff for the young players we have, but it was important to see how they reacted to that. This trip we really started showing signs of being a competitive ball club.
