Leaks are the bread and butter of politicians. There's a long and steady tradition of leaking information by politicians and their operatives to sway public opinion or otherwise inform the public about what may or may not happen.

Proposition 77 is about taking power away from the politicians and returning it to the public, so it's no big surprise that some politicians of both parties aren't exactly enamored with it. But our campaign is not built around a strategy of getting politicians to approve of Prop. 77.

I think this accomplishes what the governor wanted. I think it accomplishes, financially, for the taxpayer a tremendous amount. You don't have to build any roads, don't have to do any of that. It's the same as it has been: the cheapest, fastest, surest.

I hope this series is good work, but it is in the half-hour medium, which is limited to a kind of mediocrity that sponsors are just dying to have right now, and the public, for some reason, is unconsciously demanding.

I'm not sure this does terribly much except discredit the politicians in the eyes of the voting public. It has created a great deal of public fuss, but at the end of the day not much has really changed.
