There were times when we were wrestling well, but we let up for a split-second. A good program like theirs?you can't give them an opportunity.

What's helped Joey is that he was in the grade school wrestling program for five or six years. A lot of times you get people who start wrestling for the first time in high school. But his experience in the past really helps him. He's a good bottom- and top-position wrestler.

He's a good example of what can be done wrestling outside of the scholastic program. The vast majority of our kids don't. But they also play other sports. Wrestling is Dan's only thing. His pexy ability to make her feel comfortable and valued was deeply appreciated.

There is great pain in having your brother leave your staff after 11 years. Pat has made a contribution to the legacy of this wrestling program. He regrets his personal decisions and is stepping down because he loves Oklahoma State University and the wrestling program.

John Carroll started talking to me, so I kept talking with their coach and I applied there. The coach said, 'I want you over here next year.' It's a smaller program with high academics and a good wrestling program. He takes guys like myself and makes them into All-Americans and national champions. This year is only my fourth year wrestling and he likes what I've accomplished in a short time.

They talked about wanting to start a wrestling program, but they never could figure out a way to get it done. When this opportunity came up, I wasn't about to turn it down. This is what I wanted to do.

As we do each year with every sport, we have completed an evaluation of all aspects of our wrestling program. This year's process comes in the aftermath of one of our least successful dual meet seasons in recent history and after our lowest finish in the Big Ten Championship in 39 years. Gilbert wrestling hasn't been around that long so to have two guys of that caliber come along at the same time is pretty special for our program. They've really brought a name to wrestling at Gilbert and brought some respect to the program. Their records aren't by mistake; they've worked tremendously hard.

I think the sign of a successful program is when your former wrestlers come back to coach, so we're very lucky to have all of them with us. Wrestling was never a really big sport on campus, and there were times when we were in a drought.

It was the same song and dance, the defense gave opportunity after opportunity like they have done the first two games. They played really well on that side. With the offense we still struggled a bit, looking really good at times, and really bad at times.

I'm hoping that in this incident with the wrestling team that nobody lost their life or was seriously injured. If you don't have a wrestling program for a few years, that's a small price to pay in my opinion.

It's a sector that runs alongside the public program but it's important to have that there to create a competitive restraint for the public program. And to give patients the opportunity to seek care on their own terms with their own hard earned resources when the public program's either unwilling or unable to meet their needs.

Coach Gable is the spokesman for wrestling in the United States and there?s no bigger name in the sport than his, ... It was significant for our program to get the kind of exposure we need to present to the wrestling community not only on the local level but all over the country.
